I’m sorry I didn’t see your reply from a couple days ago. To answer your question – Yes. And, unfortunately, your suspicions were correct. Nobody wants to hear their pet has cancer. I’m so sorry. 🙁
Steroids are best avoided in rabbits. However, they are occasionally used for very a short duration to treat certain conditions (i.e. spinal injury, etc.).

@JackRabbit – I don’t know who you could possibly be referring to.
@HipHopBunny – You forgot Pigeon.
Glad to see you guys! You’ll have to stick around and have a few more naming wars. 😉 There are a few other “oldies” floating around here somewhere. I have mostly seen them responding to questions within other sections of the forum.

@HipHopBunny – They aren’t in the emoji menu. You just see other people with them in their posts here and there.

Hi
My rabbit is 9 years old and stopped eating on the 7th she went 50 hours without pooing a few days later until she stopped spitting the syringe food out. She had a dental procedure done despite the vet believing it wasn’t necessary. It seemed to help slightly as she started eating very small amounts of food. But she has had gas ever since. I…[Read more]

My rabbit was nervous when we had her on laminate flooring an lino. She’s become much more relaxed since we got carpets. Also my rabbit likes to be stroked by my feet. She sits in between my feet regularly and doesn’t have the trust issues of being picked up or mithered woth medication vets etc. She also appreciates nose to nose snuggles and…[Read more]

When my rabbit has mushy poo the rabbit specialist vet I go to reccomend hay and dried foods only for two weeks to return the gut flora to normal. This may not be possible for you due to the gi stasis if your rabbit has a poor appetite. As its more important to keep them eating anything rather than nothing at all.

I got some dried strawberries to try with Baylor! I hope he likes them! I’ll have to try it and then monitor his poops to make sure he digests them ok.

He’ll forgive you, don’t worry! The instances where you’re giving medication are just a few moments compared to the remainder of the day and time you’ll be spending with him. I have personally given one of my rabbits shots (in the back for medication), oral medication, and lathered lotion with a q tip on his face for months on end and he got over…[Read more]

Theo (almost 10 weeks old now!) recently went on antibiotics and probiotics for what seems to be so far a mild case of snuffles. We just got him but have to pick him up 2-4 times a day (depending on if he will willingly take the meds in his pen or if he must be burritoed). He always flicks his feet at us, and he won’t let us pet him much but…[Read more]

Hi, and very welcome to BinkyBunny!
There is a website called the Rabbit House Society that lists rabbit savvy vets across the United States, that’s how I found my vet. 🙂 It’s very good how you are looking into this, it is always good to have a good and reliable vet at all times. 😉

Today we decided to start introducing Louie and Lola to some new things. We’re starting small, so today is Ep. One of Exploring the world with Louie and Lola: The Stairs. We placed each of them on the top of the stairs to teach them how to go up and down, because the room we share is a daylight basement, the stairs connect directly to the rest o…[Read more]

I know I post a lot on the forums, I’m just new to having bunnies! I just got Pinky and Muffin on the 16th of August.I’ve noticed Pinky has a white bump with fur on it on the pink fleshy part of his nose. He’s also had a little redness and a tiny bit of crustiness on the inner front corners of his eyes. I also can’t tell if the bumps on top…[Read more]

I have two bunnies, brother and sister, and am looking for a vet in the New England area to have them spayed and neutered. I live in New Hampshire, about an hour north of Boston. I am looking for a reputable vet, good with bunnies, who charges reasonable prices. Any recommendations greatly appreciated! 🐰🐰💕
