How serious are the squabbles? As long as they are still getting along afterwards and they don’t get hurt, it’ll probably be okay if that happens. But you could try petting them to calm them down, or you could give them treats when they aren’t near each other. You could also guide them away from each other with a treat in each hand. With the…[Read more]

I was gone for a few weeks, so my family had to take care of my rabbits. When I got home a few days ago, I realized that they have gained a lot of weight during my absence… They’re now quite fat. I can’t really even feel their spines! When I was away, they ran out of pellets for a few days, and then hay.  Also, Benji wouldn’t eat his pellets…[Read more]

Hi, I haven’t posted in ages 🙂  I have a bonded pair of rabbits, M/F, both fixed, who have been living together for about a year and a half after meeting at rabbit speed dating.  They are devoted to one another, and are constantly cuddling and grooming one another.  It was a pretty easy bond, because professionals at the shelter got us started an…[Read more]

That would be great. Her appetite is improving and there has been no massive blobs of mucus.

Tonight she’s been in pain since 9pm woth gas until she passed the mucus covered poos. They are a great size though. No small hard pellets. No obvious streaks of blood either.

I can’t wait to get to the bottom of this. We’re so tired of the endless…[Read more]

It is probably too far for you, but I take my bun to MSPCA Angell west, they have a specialized exotics department and I like them a lot. It’s about 20 min west of Boston, so probably an hours drive from you.

My initial thought is passing gas or there was cecotrope production and eating happening. I sometimes nap next to Fable and my oh my… the smell is ripe.

It is actually positive that gas is being passed. GI stasis is when the GI system is literally stopped, or in stasis! If gas is being released, that’s a sign that things are moving. Without…[Read more]

It’s the evening now, I was just brushing him because he’s shedding a lot and he’s still gassy. I read that gas is a sign of gi stasis. But I offered him a few pellets as a treat because I was using them to get Muffin to come up on my lap. He ate them. Do bunnies still eat during gi stasis?

I’ve seen a few videos where people make them themselves, one was a person who took a wood hay feeder from Amazon, and attached it to a litter box holder and they made from wood from the hardware store. I’m actually looking for something similar.

I’ll settle for an old photo… *sigh*  3 rabbits! You have 3 time the chance of catching a snuggle 😀 you don’t have to get all 3 in the photo.

He usually just gets excited by hanging out and watching netflix/youtube, I think it’s having people active in the same room as him? He seems to just like an audience, so I don’t do too much other than I cheer him on when he runs through his tunnels and maybe we go explore my bedroom. Sometimes I just move all his things about so he has to put…[Read more]

I’m so sorry you lost her. She seems like the most wonderful rabbit. It is quite clear that she loved you, and that you gave her a great life.

Rabbit vet care is under-developped in most parts of tge world, sadly. Only a few of us have really good rabbi vets available to us. Vet care for buns is developing quite rapidly though, and things are…[Read more]

@Wick hmmmm I could look for some hay tunnels that are big enough for them. Pinky has two hay mats I put in at the front of his pen so he can destroy those instead of his blanket. Still kinda loud when he shreds it up. They love their apple sticks but those are loud too. I make cardboard toys for them that aren’t as loud though. I guess I should t…[Read more]
