You should trim them every few weeks to a month. You want to cut them around a fourth inch from the quick, so if they are that long right now you don’t need to trim them. If you aren’t sure if you’re cutting too close to the quick or not, you can squeeze the nail with the clippers a few times, and if the rabbit doesn’t flinch or react you can cut there.

Yes it is incredibly common. The bun I’m planning on adopting wasn’t spayed before the rescue took her in, and they found a tumour when they spayed her (thankfully it doesn’t appear to have spread). I just gave him a few more veggies with water on them, he’s eating them all. Hopefully he’s okay.

honestly, because you are going to bond them somewhat soon, I wouldn’t worry TOO much about litter training. Lola came to us with bad litter habits that got worse with cage swaps, so now that her and Louie are bonded I’ve really been pushing the litter training and she’s almost perfect!

Louie accidentally ate a tiny piece of tape when I wasn’t looking, so I just fed him soggy veggies and he was fine.

@Bam Thank you so much! He had already eaten his salad for the day but ate his pellets after the tape. I’ve seen him eating hay today but I’ll put more in just to make sure. Good to know other buns have survived eating tape. 😓
