She looks very content! ๐Ÿ˜‰ My ladies will sometimes make that position when I pet them too, cutest little things. ๐Ÿ™‚ Tooth purrs do sound like they are eating, so that is another sign of joy. Have you found the spot where she likes to be rubbed the most yet? ๐Ÿ˜‰

    Hi guys!

I got a new bun last night her name is Esther. She seems very curious and confident, and has no problem coming right up to you and poking her head through her pen bars. She was eating right away and hasnโ€™t had any accidents (apart from a few lil poops).

When sheโ€™s sticks her face at me I take that as wanting pets, so I pet her gen…[Read more]

OK – this is actually a bonding question but I can’t post on the bonding page for some reason – I think it is because I am new to the forum

Hello, I am the mother of 4 rabbits – 3 elderly spayed females Binky (english spotted 10-11? years old), Sunny (english spotted 10-11? years old) Kiwi (black dutch 8-9? years old) and one young spayed (at…[Read more]

Lol to be honest I would take the advice of this forum before I would take the advice of a veterinarian who doesn’t specialize in rabbits. That said you have the advice on which medication for this condition is dangerous for rabbits so go this one time and move over to the exotics vet for future visits.

That looks like a very typical molt-line. If there is bare-skin underneath instead of new fur growing in, I tend not to groom there because I perceive it might be more sensitive since that new fur hasn’t appeared yet.

Your reaction and its ability to encourage or dissipate the behavior, I think, depends on the rabbit’s intent for nipping. For example, if a rabbit is nipping for attention and you walk away, this would discourage them from doing it in the future; however, if a rabbit’s intent is to nip you to go away, then walking away would then encourage it,…[Read more]

Thank you so much for the reply ๐Ÿ™‚ I hadn’t thought about giving his regular food in my hands too but that’s a great idea. I tried this morning already for his breakfast and I thought he would snatch a piece of lettuce from me and eat it on the other side of the room like he tends to do with treats but the whole thing was out of my hands and in…[Read more]

    Hi all,

Since Anis is my first rabbit, I am extra cautious about everything because I only want the best for her! I believe she is currently molting right now – I brush her and a ton of fur comes out and fur comes out very easily. However, today, I noticed that there is a patch where I believe some hair is missing. Is this part of the regular…[Read more]

Yeah, retreating would technically give her what she was trying to achieve, so it’s not the ideal solution, I brought it up as an alternative to physical punishment. If you get bit you will jerked your hand away automatically anyway (giving her what she wanted), so at that point walking away won’t do any more “harm” in that regard, it will however…[Read more]

Yeah I know for a fact I fucked up the way I told her off initially, I know aggression isnโ€™t good it was a anger panic moment and I wasnโ€™t thinking. After the initial leg biting I googled it and was advised to head pin to stop her attacking me so thank you for that information I feel terrible for the way Iโ€™ve treated her and itโ€™s clearly not pos…[Read more]

    Agree with everything Wick said.

Also, please stop trying to punish her for being aggressive. First of all, it’s not directed at you, but the other bunny that’s invading her territory. Second of all, rabbits don’t respond to physical punishment. While they do live in groups, they aren’t “pack” animals like dogs so they won’t bow down to the alpha…[Read more]
