Bonnie sounds like Wick with the defensive-offense.
What Wick lacked which Bonnie has is the strength to actually create a nip-impact, which I’m sure opens the opportunity to solidify the fearful aggression as more serious.

Honestly I am unsure what the progression or steps have been so far, but what are your thoughts on short or longer sessions…[Read more]

Indeed, patience. Also remember that as you may observe progress, there may be better and worse days, and that could be from her end, not anything you might be doing particularly wrong. When I first got my Fable, in a somewhat humorous fashion, she would always be at the furthest side of the room possible from me. I would move somewhere (not…[Read more]

Definitely can simply be an individual difference. When there’s a change within an individual, like a rabbit who used to be really energetic suddenly turns sluggish, that for me is more worrying.

In my pair, the bigger rabbit is absolutely more energetic. She flops, binkies, and zoomies several times a day. It’s wild. The small dwarf is probably…[Read more]

Untreated cotton is considered “safe” as long as the rabbit isn’t regularly consuming it. I know many people opt for fleece stuff as well because rabbits tend to chew but not eat it (my observation from my Fable, who is a big chewer as well). I don’t know if fleece is specifically OK to break down in their stomach or not, but I know cotton is…[Read more]

You can try bribing me and see if that fixes the problem. Just throwing that out there? Outside that, I agree with Dana’s work around.

Also, you can “Copy” and “Paste” images into posts I believe, so there’s a chance if you just right click your photo and “Ctrl V” into a reply box, it’ll upload no problem.

As such, please observe this random…[Read more]

I got x-pens for my buns BUT I have hard wood floors and they slip and slide on it so I’m looking for some kind of carpet/rug. What would you all suggest?

We are working on it! It seems to be a glitch where certain people can post pictures and others can’t. If you add the picture to your profile, it should show up in your media library and you would be able to add it from there.

Also, going to move this thread to “technical stuff”.

Thank you so much, Dana and Bam! I’m going to schedule a meeting with her vet as soon as possible! Thanks again! 🙂

Thanks guys! They usually get time out in the morning, afternoon, and mostly at night.

My Pinky is also under 2 years old and he’s crazy but doesn’t zoom around. Mine also explore calmly lol. Maybe they just don’t feel the need to run a million miles an hour. Muffin explores and hops around a bit then takes a break by flopping on the floor to sl…[Read more]

Thank you Bam. Yeah I thought it must be fine since they groom their fur and eat a tiny bit anyway. The plastic just worries me!

LOL not sure how they find plastic so appealing to munch on.

He’s still eating and drinking so I’ll just keep an eye on him.

Most vets want to spay a girl bun at 6 months or so, because they’re too tiny until then -as Dana says, at 2 months of age she would not have been spayed.

Typical puberty behaviors in a bun is pee- and poopmarking, defending territory (aka cage aggression), mood swings and also more direct sexual behaviours such as courtship (often in the form of…[Read more]

She probably isn’t spayed if you got her at 2 months, because that would be way too young. The behavior you describe also sounds hormonal. The vet can shave her and look for a spay incision just to be sure.

I’m so sorry you are going through this tough situation.  🙁

I am a bit surprised by the response of the rescue, because I tend to side with the vet on this, but I realize it is really complicated. Balancing your own health with the health of a beloved pet must be really hard. A lot of rescues are having issues because of COVID and RHDV, so it…[Read more]

I think he’ll be OK. If he ate some, it wasn’t a lot. Since we put Revolution on our buns, they’re bound to get some of it in them when they clean themselves, so it can’t be toxic to ingest in small quantities. As for the plastic, buns do eat small amounts of plastic without problem. One of mine once ate half a plastic cat toy. I wasn’t happy, but…[Read more]

Sorry for my delayed reply and for creating a new account. I was locked out of the email for my original account so just created a new one. Thanks for the advice and also the link comparing the different foods , that is really cool and helpful. Yes before my health situation got bad she received very limited pellets and it would take months to go…[Read more]
