Hi all,
I am on the hunt for new hay. I was using standlee timothy and loved it but amazon stopped carrying the 48 oz bags and i would prefer to not get the 10 lb box. I tried sps again but there was alot of brown thin peices and Bentley won’t touch them. I also tried the meadow hay from oxbow and he seems to like that too so I may stick with…[Read more]

MyBunGusGus replied to the topic Do any of you use a water bottle on a pet carrier? Is there one that works? in the forum HABITATS AND TOYS 5 years, 11 months ago
I used to travel back and forth from college (4 hour drive) with my boy rabbit, GusGus. He got to the point where traveling didn’t bother him, and he would eat and drink while we were moving. I had a basic waterbottle with one of those springy things with the clips on either side to attach it, and a clip-on dish that sat underneath the spout to…[Read more]

So, I’m pretty new at the bunny mom thing, so this never even came to my mind. Yesterday I brought out my wax melter and started up a nice fall scents, then this morning I used my hairspray. Well, a few minutes ago I read an article about respiratory health in bunnies and now I want to cry! I live in a very small apartment so my bunny Mabel is…[Read more]

DanaNM Thank you for all the advice! I might do the first bonding session today. Maybe Iβll see how they do in the bathtub first with more space then. I hope they donβt get too aggressive!
That glove-biting thing makes sense. I may try that. And yes he was at a petting farm before, so probably many hands trying to pet him and pick him up.

Bu20055 replied to the topic Can Rabbits Eat Lawn Grass?? in the forum HABITATS AND TOYS 5 years, 11 months ago
Though you cannot feed grass that has just been mowed or clipping from mowing. The lawn mower can leave oil in the grass and mowing speeds up the fermentation process.

House rabbits (those that live full time indoors rather than outside full time or a mix of the two) are happier, healthier, more socialized and much safer. Indoor rabbits are less exposed to diseases and parasites, and are protected from weather and predators. Even if the predators cannot actually get to the rabbit, it is quite terrifying to be…[Read more]

If it had pesticides, no. Pesticide free lawn grass, however, is safe I believe.

Oh she looks so sweet in that picture! I wouldn’t worry because I had that exact same thing a month or so ago when Tybalt was going through his first big molt, the side view of him was so funny because of the dips and curves on his small face but it’s all gone now π

Happy Spooky Season all! π
England is freeeeezing, I haven’t seen anything but rain in over a week so summer is truly truly over! I love autumn but I’m not a fan of the sad looking mornings, makes it so hard to get out of bed for work π
On the plus side I think I’ve had a real breakthrough with Tybalt! Somehow, being away from him every…[Read more]

Hi Everybody

I want to make a dog style litter box house. i want to have a ramp that goes onto the roof of it with trays of grass so my question is “can i give my rabbit grass that…[Read more]

Joey absolutely loves tummy rubs. If I want to clip her nails I give her belly rubs the whole time so she just sits there instead of squirming.

I was kind of at a loss about the poopy butt. I read someone else’s bunny had been experiencing poopy butt due to the high protein content in orchard grass hay. After reading I decided I would switch him to straight timothy hay. This seemed to improve the poopy butt quite a bit. He get’s a bit on him here and there now, but not anywhere near as…[Read more]

@HipHopBunny it’s kind of wedged by that black frame (it’s actually an aquarium stand that she likes hanging out under)

Don’t stress about the nose nip, these things happen to be best of us. (See my post about “Nose guards” in the habitat section to see my most recent exciting discovery LOL).
For during the actual sessions, I would recommend getting a pair of thick leather gloves. A dustpan can work (or some people will put tennis shoes on their hands), but…[Read more]

I agree with more pre-bonding! I would do full-on side swaps (leave the litterboxes a little dirty) for a few more weeks.
For your sessions when you resume, chose an area that is brand new and somewhat stressful if you can. Hopefully the additional pre-bonding will help a lot!
