Thanks DanaNM! 🙂 I forgot to add that Pinky groomed his own face during the session and layed down on his belly.
I actually timed the session wrong, it was 20 minutes. Oops! It still went well, though. 😀

I did a full side swap last night and they are NOT happy about it. Which makes me think it was the right move LOL.
So now we’ll see how long it takes them to chill out! Had to watch pretty closely because BJ and Myra were trying to nip Bonnie through the fence, and then turned on each other, but settled down after a bit.

Oh Baylor! What a cute little rascal though. I do feel your pain… Dorian recently decided the deck slats are super tasty. I am not sure what to do there, I have a rug, but I can’t get one big enough for the whole deck so it’s sadly now just deck time if heavily supervised, also rent so sort of not sure how to fix that (they are starting to decay…[Read more]

Agreed. You don’t want to use something that had pesticides on it at some point, even if it’s just the seeds. Organic seeds would be safe though. A common grass to sprout for bunnies is wheat grass (AKA cat grass). You can get the seeds in bulk at health food stores.

I’m sure Mabel will be fine! A one-time exposure to a scented wax melter plus hairspray that you used in your bathroom cant have hurt her. Plus you aired it out!
Its not recommended to use essential oil diffusers or incense with rabbits close by, and wax melters would most likely fall into that category. The problem is mainly with long term,…[Read more]

My bunny Louie is almost 2 years old, and his sneezing problem has been going on for basically a year now. He has been to multiple vets, and on multiple antibiotics. He was originally having sneezing fits, and a severe watery nose, so we tried out three different courses of antibiotics and every time it came right back. So we finally decided to…[Read more]

Hi all,
I am on the hunt for new hay. I was using standlee timothy and loved it but amazon stopped carrying the 48 oz bags and i would prefer to not get the 10 lb box. I tried sps again but there was alot of brown thin peices and Bentley won’t touch them. I also tried the meadow hay from oxbow and he seems to like that too so I may stick with…[Read more]

I used to travel back and forth from college (4 hour drive) with my boy rabbit, GusGus. He got to the point where traveling didn’t bother him, and he would eat and drink while we were moving. I had a basic waterbottle with one of those springy things with the clips on either side to attach it, and a clip-on dish that sat underneath the spout to…[Read more]

So, I’m pretty new at the bunny mom thing, so this never even came to my mind. Yesterday I brought out my wax melter and started up a nice fall scents, then this morning I used my hairspray. Well, a few minutes ago I read an article about respiratory health in bunnies and now I want to cry! I live in a very small apartment so my bunny Mabel is…[Read more]

DanaNM Thank you for all the advice! I might do the first bonding session today. Maybe I’ll see how they do in the bathtub first with more space then. I hope they don’t get too aggressive!
That glove-biting thing makes sense. I may try that. And yes he was at a petting farm before, so probably many hands trying to pet him and pick him up.

Though you cannot feed grass that has just been mowed or clipping from mowing. The lawn mower can leave oil in the grass and mowing speeds up the fermentation process.

House rabbits (those that live full time indoors rather than outside full time or a mix of the two) are happier, healthier, more socialized and much safer. Indoor rabbits are less exposed to diseases and parasites, and are protected from weather and predators. Even if the predators cannot actually get to the rabbit, it is quite terrifying to be…[Read more]
