My sweet bunny is not neutered as of yet. He is a year and a half old. My bunny did not start trying to hump things or circle my feet until late February of this year, when he was already a year old, long after the 4 month mark of when a bunny is supposed to hit adolescence. Anyways since last week he abruptly stopped trying to hump things and…[Read more]

I’m so happy you are having an easy go of it! How long are they spending in neutral space together?
I would probably consider your bedroom as not neutral at all really, since their pens are there and they play together in that room. But they might still be OK (I have sometimes skipped semi-neutral, but only have they seem super bonded in…[Read more]

I agree with @HipHopBunny, it sounds like you are doing a great job and more time will probably work wonders. 🙂
With buns that go a bit too crazy for hand feeding, it helps to hand feed things that are long and not quite as exciting LOL (like a lettuce leaf).
Do you notice any triggers to her aggression or does it seem random?

The main ingredients are starch and sugar, which should be very limited in a rabbit’s diet as they can upset the balance of gut flora.
Hamsters and other rodents have very different diets from rabbits and can handle a lot more sugars and starches.
I imagine if you break them up and use a small piece as a training treat it wouldn’t harm the bun…[Read more]

Ahhh, I’ve been pretty inactive here lately, with my online classes I’ve been busier, but Louie and Lola gets tons of extra free roam time! They’re doing super well, lots of flops and cuddles from them, I’ll have to post some photos! Can’t believe it’s already October! Today Lola let me really pet her for the first time without food in her mouth, yay!

I hope this is in the right forum. Anyway are Ware Critter Pops for small animals good for rabbits? My older sister got a package for Blosdom and Thumper because she liked the name “Critter Pops” and I took a look at the back and it gives me no information which makes me suspicious, more so because of the bright colors, texture, and because I…[Read more]

I’m not altogether sure what they mean by colic, maybe they use that word because its one that people are apt to understand? Horses and human babies get colic. Horses are very similar to rabbits, digestion-wise. Some vets even say rabbits are just tiny horses 😀
I do think they mean what we call GI stasis. I’m glad they’ve made a treatment plan.…[Read more]

though if they do eat a bit of catnip it’s not biggy… does not seem to affect them the way it does cats either! I had to research after Dorian got into a batch :). It is in the mint family, which is a super easy plant to grow for buns to munch on, parsley is a good option too. You can often find both for pretty cheap at grocery stores. I usually…[Read more]

I can’t answer your question, but hope you get good news about Snowball soon! Maybe when he is over the worst of it he can re-cooperate with you? Not sure how your foster situation works at your shelter, I know mine likes sick animals to be in foster as they tend to get better faster. Also trying to figure out what you may have missed will tear…[Read more]

Thank you so very much! I am pretty new to bunny care and I just want to make sure we’re doing everything we need to be to make her comfortable after all that trauma. Also good to know she might be a little crazy after the spay! We have no plans to get rid of her and I will continue to work with her until we get there. Patience is a virtue.

I too agree. It was very sweet of your boyfriend to buy treats for your bun though! They are typical junk food for buns, so use only as a rare treat, and only a little bit each time.

My two boys have been doing surprisingly well together. For the last two sessions, Pinky has been nipping Muffin’s butt a bit. But mostly grooming his butt, his head, and his cheeks. Muffin licked Pinky’s ear again today. They groom themselves and lay next to each other too.
I had to add litter boxes yesterday cause they were peeing on top of eac…[Read more]
