Hmm… it depends on what the glaze is made out of. I’m not really familiar with it.

Perhaps they meant he has gas… which can lead to GI stasis.

Thank you both for your well wishes <3  I really appreciate it!

prince dorian – I also have heard lots about rabbits doing better in foster homes rather than in vet hospitals, but unfortunately, the shelter wanted to take Snowball in since he had an adopter lined up.  I wish I could have fussed over him like I wanted to (and supposedly bunnies d…[Read more]

Side swaps have been going well, I’ve been swapping them every 2 days. They are not trying to nip through the fencing anymore and I’ve been able to leave Bonnie out overnight without it causing squabbling between BJ and Myra. They will often lay near each other on opposite sides of the fence.

Going to do this for another week… then thinking I…[Read more]

Yes it sounds like he is normal and just a baby. Babies can be messy, just like human babies!

Eating the cecotropes is actually a very important part of the rabbit diet, they get certain things from them that they can’t get otherwise. But some young bunnies will not eat them all. I think it’s a combo of getting more pellets (so they produce more…[Read more]

Agree with Hazel, try having them go in and out a lot for food, but not get picked up or trapped in it most of the time. I also am guessing it will get better once you are done bonding and not using the carriers so much.

Ok, latest update, she was seizure free from the 16th of last month.  She’s been off the antibiotics for 2 weeks, and was doing fine.  This morning, Seizure.  So we’re back on the antibiotics, for good, probably.  She’s taking 4 ml of Enrofloxacin twice a day for the foreseeable future.   Dammit.

If the carrier can’t be in the pen with them permanently, I would put it in there during meal times and feed them in the carrier. That way they will get used to going in and make a positive association with it.

I always catch her sleeping like that 🙂 I think she dreams a lot too because I see her galluping in her sleep like maybe she’s dreaming about running around the living room or perhaps dreaming of running in a hay field. Who knows lol.

E cuniculi can manifest in several ways. The most well-known symptom is head tilt, but that doesnt mean there will always be a tilted head. E cuniculi will not affect the ears, but rather the balance organs deep within the ears. Those cant be seen with an otoscope.

A differential diagnosis to e cuniculi is a middle ear infection. That can in…[Read more]

I’m glad that you have new buns, new love. 🙂 I have new rabbits as well, they make me smile every day. 😀 I hear you though, I worry about them constantly, thankfully though, the bulk of that worry has subsided with time.

Take a deep breath, feel your stomach go out, now let out the air, and feel your stomach go in. Count to 5 with each…[Read more]
