LOL it’s cute though. I cover the walls of the pen of the other bunny with blankets when one bunny is out. They both keep lifting up the blankets to see the other bunny. It’s funny they just want to say hi but I don’t allow it! They’ve been more determined with this since I started bonding sessions.
He went in there so casually… I was startin…[Read more]

Couldn’t agree more with all these replies, particularly @jerseygirl. It was a perfectly normal act or love and care to take your sweet girl for a health check up. I lost my lovely little boy on Saturday night – it’s horrible. Wish they could live forever. My heart truly goes out to you <3

Hi everyone,
First of all – apologies if this isn’t how the forum works (creating a new topic). I can move it / repost if necessary.
My head feels like someone has been holding it under water for a week so I’m struggling to concentrate.
My sweet boy had to cross over to the rainbow bridge on Saturday night after battling e. cuniculi since…[Read more] -

Was she building her nest on the day she got stasis? If she was having a false pregnancy, it’s possible she stopped eating just like an actual pregnant rabbit would a day before they give birth. It’s the hormones released that bring on the labor.
Do you recall what was going on with her with her previous bout of stasis?

If Bromelain and Papain are bad, why are they in Oxbow’s Critical Care, which is always the no.1 recommendation for GI stasis recovery ?
They have unlimited water in 2 large stainless steel dog bowls, changed twice a day and unlimited Timothy hay in 2 self-made hoppers attached to 2 large litter boxes, takes them about 3-4 months to go through a…[Read more]

jerseygirl replied to the topic Rabbit Seizures in the forum DIET & CARE 5 years, 11 months ago
I just wanted to add, if it is EC causing the seizures, it can take a while to see reduction of symptoms sometimes. The meds reduce the EC load in the body, but then the lesions it causes on the brain need time to heal. So sometimes, owners will see the most improvement happen after or near the end of the course of medication. That said, some have…[Read more]

Vibes for little (((Dawn))).
I agree, the antibiotic enrofloxacin (baytril) can help *some* with EC as it has some antifungal properties & EC is a microspore.
Panacur is available at a feed /farm supply store. Or online. You could buy it then have the vet let you know the dosage. Or get them to give you a idea of how much they charge for it. My…[Read more]

As Dana said, they will hold grudges. It might be best to start from scratch, give them a month to calm down before doing any more bonding sessions. Every falling out they have will make it harder to bond them in the future. If possible I would house them away from each other for a while to help them forget.

it’s been 2.5 weeks since the fight and they have been living seperatly but still can see each other through the fence since then
we bring them in together most days and started off with just 5 mins then 10 yesterday was about 30mins together
what positive behaviour should I be looking for? Thanks

How long have they had to calm down from the fight? I’m fairly certain the nose injury was a bite, and injuries like that can cause hurt feelings that take some time to heal. Bunnies definitely hold grudges.
It sounds like you were working on bonding them in neutral territory, but I’m not clear on how long you were working with them there or what…[Read more]

We have 2 male rabbits – brothers we got last year they are now a year old, both neutered
Scamp is the more dominant I thought,
They are very different
Simba is passive, easier to pick up and hold, generally less inquisitive, prefers to lay in the bedroom all day
Scamp is more naughty he’ll investigate a new toy and chew it up, if you enter t…[Read more]

If they sell an indoor rabbit formula, then I would suggest going with that one. The outdoor formula likely has extra calories, etc. to help rabbits maintain body heat when living outdoors. Since you are planning on having house bunnies, there would be no need to provide them with more than their bodies need.
You can feed 2 bunnies together or…[Read more]

Yes, it’s pretty inexpensive. You can buy it over the counter, but I would have the vet help you with determining the correct dosage.
Loki shouldn’t need treatment unless he starts showing symptoms. Rabbits are often exposed to EC early in life and it remains inside their bodies. Most rabbits do not develop symptoms. Even if Loki was never…[Read more]

@LBJ10 haha yeah I usually just grab mine too. I used to do the no-touch method and would always feed them in it, but got tired of having the carrier sitting out all the time.
