@LBJ10 I have been using hammocks since Pacey (I remember everyone thought I was insane back then giving a rabbit a hammock lol). But she is way too big for the hammocks I make and I saw this at the store and was like AHA! It’s working great so far. I don’t think it would if she liked to chew fabric or pee on fabric.

I’m so happy I can’t sleep ( it’s 2.45) I know we’re not through it yet but she’s just taken water and cc out of a spoon I offered her she seems a little more herself it will be about 5.45 I’ll offer her cc again and more fluids although she’s nibbling wet-ish hay a wet greens no where near enough I just want to see a good output of poops. She’s…[Read more]

Thank you for your input, I truly appreciate it. You see, when feeding, aside from the syringe, he still eats his carrots, apples and collard greens. Today he ate so much of his collard greens. My point being,to euthanize him when he seem to have a lot of life in him, but it might just be me being delusional. He pees and poop normal. He just can’t…[Read more]

Agree with Bam. She knows something is wrong, if you keep them together she might get more aggressive with him. I would seperate. Honestly, considering the state he is in, being paralyzed and probably in pain, I would have him put down. There isn’t any quality of life to speak of at this point.
I’m very sorry. 🙁

Whichever you feel is less stressful for her. If she’s content on her own, I would keep it that way so it’s easier to monitor her output.
I’m so glad she’s feeling a little better, I’m guessing things have started to move along in there and it gave her some relief. 😀 Keep doing what you’re doing!

She’s not really the destroying type unless it’s a cardboard box or cords. I will definitely snap a pic of her when she is snoozing in it.

I don’t have a 2nd bun, just Dorian. Yeah I think knowing the personality will be a big one as they have to get a long with Dorian and also be able to free roam. My original intentions was to adopt a pair, but well I met Dorian at the shelter and that was that. Thanks for the tips @Moonlightbunny66 !

UPDATE ON PIPPIN
I really don’t know how she/we are doing this but there’s been a change, she’s back eating her wet greens albeit in little bits and some bits of hay, I changed the syringe to a small med one which without having to huddle her up she’s taking from me, And the odd lap of water from her bowl…breathing much better still very li…[Read more]

I don’t think it’s ever too late to swap pens!
When Bun Jovi and Bertha hit a stalemate (they would be fine and cuddling all day, then would scuffle every night like clockwork), the thing that worked was a change of scenery and marathoning there. Something about the new location, things just clicked. I wrote an article about it…[Read more]

So I did a thing in Joeys pen. She loves hammocks but they are always too small for her. Sooooo I bought a hanging chair and hung it (securely) at the end of her enclosure.

You can put fur over and wrap with self-adhesive vet wrap, but it is not unproblematic. Most rabbits really hate all kinds of bandages and will try their best to rip them off. If the rabbit succeeds in pulling out the fur that lines the wrap, the wrap itself is abrasive.
Putting a cone on a rabbit to prevents it from reaching the wraps comes with…[Read more]

Bam replied to the topic Are these herbs/flowers safe? in the forum DIET & CARE 5 years, 10 months ago
The only herb of those you have listed I haven’t fed, is fenugreek. It is most likely fine in small amounts.
Dried peas are not recommended and not dried corn kernels. Oat seed heads are somewhat rich, but often highly appreciated and not too hard on the tummy.

When a bun is fighting meds and syringed food, it is generally a good sign. It means there is some strenght.
The breathing difficulties are very worrisome. Is her tummy hard and distended?
Keep up the supportive measures as best you can.
