Thank you! I got him some orchard grass hay and also some hay cubes to try. He is eating everything just not as much hay as he usually did before the trimming. He seems to really love the hay cubes though and has started to eat more hay! 🙂 Thanks again!

How much lino did she actually eat? The fact that she is still trying to lick the concrete makes me wonder if perhaps the lino eating was a symptom of the stasis and not the cause of it… Bunnies will do weird things when they are in pain. Please keep asking your vet for metacam!

I asked the Normal Price Vet (who came recommended on a list of rabbit savvy vets, so don’t worry) these questions and they got back to me right away. I’ve also pitched these questions to the Super Effing Expensive Vet and am waiting (with curiosity) to hear back.

Hmm, what you’re describing sounds like eczema to me. It can be triggered by all sorts of things including detergents, cold air, and stress.

Any sugars (whether dried or otherwise) can be a problem for some buns, especially if they already have tummy issue (the sugars can alter the balance of their gut biota and cause gas, etc.). Oh i forgot to add i usually get fresh grass from a mixed grass field including many types of fresh grass (one being timothy hay) in the spring and summer as a supplement to her hay but i never thought to cut extra for the winter- I should definitely do that next year.

I second the fennel and mint recommendation! I had a bun with a difficult tummy, his favorite veg was herb fennel  and when he had a tummy upset, dried mint (from all mint teabags) was one of the few things he’d eat willingly.

I asked the other forum moderators about flushing the bowels out. It’s not a recognized bunny medical term, so its a bit unclear what your vet means. An enema, perhaps?

Maybe some dried herbs? Certain herbs are thought to help gas, such as fennel and mint. They would be nice and fragrant and probably very enriching. 🙂 A small amount of oat hay might also be nice and agree with her tummy.
