I just left my bun 2 days to be with my aunt…my boyfriend had to feed her and clean her potty…she is sooooo mad at me!😂 We usually eat lettuce together (mixed greens…NEVER iceburg) but my little rotten snatched a leaf an stayed in her room giving me the side eye…like he didn’t give her pinch of oatmeal, handful of greens, and slice of…[Read more]

Bu20055 started the topic Is this mix safe to feed daily? in the forum DIET & CARE 5 years, 9 months ago
Hi guys! Found a mix from the store that’s kind of like spring mix but with less variety and hardly any spinach. It has arugula, mizuna, a variety of lettuces and spinach. I picked all of the spinach out when I was washing it and made a yummy green smoothie. I was under the impression that arugula was high in calcium but I haven’t been able to fin…[Read more]

Bunny tax, I like it. 😈
I don’t think you need to get the x-ray as long as he’s improving. Peace of mind is worth a lot too of course, but as you said, there’s no guarantee the x-ray will reveal anything conclusive. Personally I’d hold off on it. 🙂
He’s adorable! 😀

I’m glad to hear he’s doing better! 🙂
Oscar often gets tummy troubles while molting. Simethicone has always done the trick so far, I usually give him 1 ml every hour, I don’t think it ever took more than two doses before he made a miraculous recovery. That stuff is almost magic, and very safe since it doesn’t get absorbed by the body. I also…[Read more]

Thanks @Bam! Yeah he is in his hay box right now chowing down, he ran around, re-adjusted all his tunnels and did some important cardboard destruction with some little happy wiggles for a bit too… so something got moving between the simethicone and the belly rubs, and what ever was bothering him is done. Maybe it was just that one poop chain…[Read more]

You can keep up the sinethicone, it will do no harm but possibly some good. Dana Krempels says 0.5-1 ml every hour for the first three hours, then every two hours, then 1-2 times per day. We dont know why it works, but since it does seem to work and its safe to give, there’s no harm in giving it. (If he’s eating and seems ok, don’t wake him up to…[Read more]

Ochh, there’s a shark in the bunny enclose! I hope the bun keeps away! 🤣

Vilde on the couch, watching season 4 of The Crown. Since he himself is a prince, he’s naturally interested in how other royal houses go about their day.

well he just ate some hay and definitely seems perked up! Also took some mint and his body language is way more peppy. Should I continue with the simethicone?

Thanks DanaNM! He won’t eat his pellets or his favorite treats yet, he is ignoring the greens but he sometimes does that so that’s less a sign. Also not eating hay which is weirder. I’ll try a syringe of water here in a little bit. I haven’t had a chance to take temp yet, but he doesn’t seem in serious pain. He isn’t hunkered with his belly on the…[Read more]

DanaNM replied to the topic Green matted stains around rabbit's mouth HELP in the forum HOUSE RABBIT Q & A 5 years, 9 months ago
Hmmm my instinct was veggie juice as well, but his avoidance of jaw touching makes me think a dental exam would be a good step to be on the safe side. Tooth issues would prob be the most likely cause.
My white bunnies get gross looking mouths right as they start molting. I think the base of the fur around the mouth gets more stained, and then as…[Read more]

Bunnies are great teachers of many things, sounds like you have an excellent one. <3

A lot of people will use an exercise pen to block access to their bed for free-roaming buns.

Sounds like it could be a bit of gas, so keep up the tummy rubs and simethicone. Will he eat favorite greens? Healthy poops are great.
The other thing to do would be to syringe some fluids (water or really watery CC). You could also take his temp to see if he’s cold (an indication of more serious pain).
I would call the vet at least and see what…[Read more]

I massaged his tummy a bit and ended up with a lap full of poops, they all look like good healthy ones. I think that’s a good thing? Still not eating but gave him another dose of the gas drops. Saw an older thread that suggested giving every hour for first 3 hours, so hopefully that’s right.

To be honest, I haven’t exactly been consistent with my bunny playtime. These past few months have been difficult for me, and when anxiety takes over, everything in life loses meaning to me. Luna was never one of those things, but my ability to feel motivated to play with her was reduced during this time, and I forgot that bunnies need stimulation…[Read more]

I am not sure what is going on, but Dorian has been acting a little off this morning. Didn’t catch it right off, but tried to give him some pellets and he didn’t take them. He’s been sitting kind of huddled or flopping, but in a way that makes me think he can’t get comfy. He is leaving couple pellets about (usually he is very good about not doing…[Read more]

There is no way to block the access unfortunately. During the day I keep an eye on him but he didn’t even try to go onto the bed, even if I’m putting him there, he jumps out automatically he does it only during the night when I don’t have the control, he’s smart
I guess I could try with the plastic especially that I’m renting a flat and this matt…[Read more]
