I think, in the end, it will be negligible whether you do it or not! If it’s possible that the irritation would foster negative interactions that might hinder progress, I’d stay away. At the same time, it can be a time for them to “work out” stuff. It’s up to you and I don’t see it as being a decision with major consequences.

If you got your rabbit when she was younger, it’s very possible it hasn’t been until now that her sleeping is more so aligned with a usual rabbit. Like human children, sometimes it takes a while for them to regulate to what “should be” their sleep schedule. My rabbits usually sleep from 10AMish to 5-6PMish, with one of them doing a little early…[Read more]

Wick & Fable replied to the topic Stinky cecotropes in the forum DIET & CARE 5 years, 8 months ago
Cecotropes by nature I thought were stinky. I used to always be able to smell when Wick would be eating his cecotropes. Both Wick and Fable, if I get close enough, will have stinky breath after eating cecotropes! Admittedly, I don’t know what cat poo smells like, but cecotropes don’t smell good.
The diet sounds fine, as long as hay is making up…[Read more]

Just so you know I have a bonded pair of neutered males who are so much in love! It’s 100% possible. Keep up the bonding and hopefully you’ll get to the same point.

I am trying to bond my bunnies using the 24/7 method. I started them off in a small space and when the fighting subsided upgraded them to a bigger space. That seemed to go well. When I went one more size up, I changed the type of enclosure. I was using bins before that blocked their view to C&C grids.Once I moved them into the C&C grid… -

I don’t know the circumstances surrounding how she came to you, but considering her age, it is unlikely she is already spayed. Unless she came from a shelter, of course. They tend to spay rabbits young so they can get them adopted ASAP.
Going with the assumption that she simply doesn’t have a uterus, this isn’t completely unheard of. Rarely,…[Read more]

I’ve noticed today and yesterday while chaperoning bunny dates that Wally’s cecotropes smell kind of like cat poo. I haven’t noticed an odor when Ben and Clover eat them. A quick Google search said cecotropes smell but he had stasis in September and since I haven’t noticed a smell with the other rabbits I can’t help but wonder if he didn’t fully…[Read more]

We would need a little more information to see if it’s too much sleep but I will give you some info on my experience with.my buns. They like to play early in the morning and I’m the evening and sometimes during the night. During the daytime they sleep a lot. They are usually in bed by 9 in the morning, get up for a snack around 1 to 2, and then…[Read more]

My 3 buns had a date yesterday that lasted about 3 hours and overall wasn’t too bad. I was planning to do it again this morning so I traded out their play times early so everyone would have a chance to run around first. Well, Ben realized we were early and knows that’s suspicious so he’s sitting in there thumping every couple of minutes. I’m…[Read more]

The thing is though, OB is my best water drinker and hay eater. I don’t know if it is because of the bonding sessions, for it has been going on for a while, and she doesn’t seem that stressed around Silver and Smokey. On the contrary, she goes to them when she is nervous.
The poops are really small, hard, and have a light color to them. I don’t…[Read more]

She could have been a bit stressed from all the bonding sessions? Hay and moisture are the most important things for good poops. So maybe pushing some extra hay on her and giving her some extra fluids would help?

It’s true that some bunnies just have very sensitive tummies and don’t do well with greens. Some people have better luck feeding dried greens instead.

How does he do without any greens at all? I know that sounds terrible, but some bunnies just have very sensitive guts and they can’t handle having greens. I know there have been a few bunnies on the forum that are like that.

Dry, as in a lot of hay in them?
