Neutral territory is really important, so you can try disguising the area a bit more. I would go back to the last set-up where things were going well and spend more time in that enclosure before moving on to the next step. Once you start seeing positive behaviors you want to really let those behaviors cement before moving them or changing things around.

I agree, cecotropes do smell strongly! I smell my bun’s cecos when he’s eating them. Its an unmistakeable, pungent and “green”  smell.

I think, in the end, it will be negligible whether you do it or not! If it’s possible that the irritation would foster negative interactions that might hinder progress, I’d stay away. At the same time, it can be a time for them to “work out” stuff. It’s up to you and I don’t see it as being a decision with major consequences.

If you got your rabbit when  she was younger, it’s very possible it hasn’t been until now that her sleeping is more so aligned with a usual rabbit. Cecotropes by nature I thought were stinky. I used to always be able to smell when Wick would be eating his cecotropes. Both Wick and Fable, if I get close enough, will have stinky breath after eating cecotropes! Admittedly, I don’t know what cat poo smells like, but cecotropes don’t smell good.

I don’t know the circumstances surrounding how she came to you, but considering her age, it is unlikely she is already spayed. Unless she came from a shelter, of course. They tend to spay rabbits young so they can get them adopted ASAP.
