That’s where I told them I wanted him shaved. I guess she’s not as rabbit-knowledgeable as I thought she was, but that seems to be the case for all the vets here I’ve gone to.

Why would they shave his feet? My vet did sanitary shaves all the time. It was just the butt/inner thigh area.

Thanks guys. Apollo’s appetite does seem to be improving which is good, he seems a bit more keen to eat pellets again now that Luna is.
It’s Sunday night here, Luna’s surgery was Friday. She’s been doing fantastic today, eating really well, excited for pellet time, moving around a bunch. Her poop size is improving. My only concern was she…[Read more]

Ah I don’t really feed them anything starchy. Did you notice the Benebac helping at all?
He had his vet appointment yesterday and x-rays did just show signs of arthritis I guess. They didn’t even show them to me. I also asked for a sanitary shave just around his butt area and they ended up shaving the bottom of his feet too and I’m quite upset…[Read more]

Great that she still has an appetite and lat she eventually let you pet the area. How is Apollo’s appetite now?

Yes the appearance of the site does take some getting used to.
I think yesterday she had some pretty good pain management in place so she was really good. This morning she was still eating well etc but wasn’t keen to have me touch her or get near her and kept running away. She spent a lot of time hiding this morning (probably because I kept…[Read more]

Hooray! So happy she’s back home.
I’m wondering if she immediately feels more comfortable?
The shaved face can be a shock! From what I’ve seen from others sharing about this surgery, things seem to heal up fast. -

Yep, “scary” smells definitely get buns worked up sometimes.

Wasn’t sure if I should revive this or start a new thread. Since this has all my background and I don’t want to repeat it, I’m just replying here. Sorry if I shouldn’t have.
So I’ve ultimately decided to just bond the twins and leave Piko out of it. I think it’ll ultimately be too stressful for both of us. They’ll get limited “interaction” by…[Read more]

Sometimes buns do get spooked for seemingly no reason (or just no reason that we can detect). I’ve noticed my buns will often spook easily when it’s very windy. I think sometimes scary smells can waft in with the wind, or the wind creates unfamiliar noises.
I think it’s ok to just monitor unless you notice other changes (like reduced appetite) or…[Read more]
