Agree, sounds like it’s time for him to be neutered! That should help a lot.
Also, couches and beds tend to be problem areas for bunnies peeing. The softness and strong smell of humans trigger them to mark. Covering the area with a shower curtain with a blanket on top sometimes does the trick (or one of those blankets with nylon on one side), or…[Read more]

The vet emailed me back and told me to feed him half of what I’m feeding him right now. Then after a week of that, feed him only hay for a week. And if it doesn’t help, then I should let them know and I can bring him in to be reassessed. They said he would likely have some blood work to check his organs.

He drinks from a bowl, I think I’ll see if I can watch him the next time he drinks to see if he’s dipping his chin

Thank you for the update! Great outcome!
It really is super scary when they do stuff like that.

Sounds like a case of bunny puberty, 5 months is a normal time to expect these hormonal behaviors.

Hi everyone, I have a 5 month old Flemish giant, while in his enclosure (remains open at all times except while we are sleeping) he does all his business in his litter box, never has an accident outside it unless it’s too dirty in the box which doesn’t really happen. When he free roams we have another litter box in the living room that he uses asw…[Read more]

It doesn’t look like it’s coming from his mouth necessarily. Does he drink from a bowl or bottle? Perhaps he’s just dipping his chin too much.

Bam replied to the topic rabbits eat meat????????? in the forum DIET & CARE 5 years, 7 months ago
This is rather interesting! Some buns really do seem to go for meat. My bunny Bam would steal pork rinds if he got the chance. A friend has a rabbit who is obsessed with meat sandwiches.
I recently saw a TV documentary about wild horses in Siberia, they used to raid villages and steal fish.
That said, we shouldn’t feed our rabbits meat or fish -…[Read more]

So I created an account to touch on this. My bunny BB has an obsession with meat. She finds it even when I think there’s no way. Opening the fridge, finding the slim jims, watching you to leave your plate even for a second. And she will take it and run. She begs too. My other bunnies… not so much, it’s just a BB thing lol. I was thinking of…[Read more]

Thank you both so much for your input!! I am so grateful to get the opinions of others here. You know how not all vets are rabbit knowledgable, even if they say they are. Getting the input of others in the rabbit community makes me feel a lot better. And I’m glad to hear that waiting a little with the mites won’t be too terrible. Since it’s been a…[Read more]

As Bam said, caramel isn’t toxic. But all that sugar can lead to upset within the GI tract.

Hopefully the picture is clear, hard to take pics of his chin. But I’ve been noticing this wet spot on Timothy’s chin and I’m not sure if it’s something I should be worried about. I’ve read some posts about other rabbits with wet chins, but Timothy’s isn’t as bad as the ones I’ve seen online. I haven’t been able to get him to a vet for any…[Read more]
