Yes, unlimited pellets are fine when they are growing. Unlimited within reason though, of course. She needs to eat hay too.

Her ear length and face shape suggest false dwarf (or a mix). She’s super cute though!

A little extra protein never hurt anyone. šŸ˜‰

Seriously though, if it is a pickleworm then it is Lepidoptera. In other words, they are baby moths. They do not parasites to animals. The larva would not survive being eaten.

Best case scenario is if she did ingest one, she chewed it to death or it’ll die in her stomach. I’m unsure the repercussions on that particular worm, but generally when we think of rabbits with “worms”, you see them in their poop. I would monitor her as usual and just make sure she keeps eating hay, drinking, pooping, and peeing. If there are any…[Read more]

My little brother fed my rabbit some cucumber but was not aware that it had worms. I only noticed when I looked at her food bowl and seen a piece of cucumber that had a bite, the center was brown and a maggot was present. My brother gave her a few pieces but there was only one left when I saw it. What do I do?? Is it harmful for my rabbit? I’ve…[Read more]

Any advise, tips and general knowledge would be greatly appreciated.

A little background. We rescued a male harlequin/rex bunny when he was about a month old. Kept him separate from our current MxF bonded pair and raised him to about 6 months old. Got him neutered and waited a month for introductions.

First day: female wanted nothing to do with…[Read more]

Hi Rachelmoon, since this is an old thread, you may not get many responses. We ask that members don’t reply to old threads to avoid confusion. It would be best to start a new thread with your question. Let me know if you aren’t sure how to do that. šŸ™‚

I will close this thread now.

Xpens are usually made for dogs, so they can be quite high. Typically, a 3ft (36in) xpen is tall enough for most rabbits. Also, rabbits will not try to clear super high obstacles unless they really want to, so if you cover the outside of the pen with a bedsheet and make the area inside nice for the rabbit, they typically dont try to jump the wall.

It’s great to hear she has 12hrs of free roam time! I would then revise and say if you wanted to boost her opportunity to exercise and general enrichment, maybe just set up an Xpen at night. Rabbits tend to be more active during some hours when we’re asleep, so giving her that opportunity might be nice. Also, I would recommend if she has that free…[Read more]

Ah thank you for the answer!!
i forgot to mention that she is free in our living room 12 hours a day. The door of her cage is always open. She is toilet trained and when she needs to use the litter box or when she is hungry she can go to her cage by hersef. We keep her in the cage at night since we can not watch her.

i have her baby photos and…[Read more]

Unsure what you mean by “athletic” (I think all rabbits are quite athletic, but personalities may differ in how they express that energy), but the ears do look a bit bigger for a dwarf. She could be a mix or a false — My dwarf was .5kg at about 16 weeks, but growth trajectories can vary.

Regardless of true dwarf or not, I do not think that cage…[Read more]

    Hi everyone!

We have a new member in our house. She came home when she was 8 weeks old and bow she is about to be 10 weeks old. She seems longer and more athletic compared to real dwarf bunnies. She is 0.5 kg right now. I love her soo much, it doesnt matter she is true or false but i just wander and want to guess how much kg will she be when she…[Read more]
