I’m sorry that happened! I find that bunnies can be very calming influences and maybe in time he’ll actually help you have fewer and less intense reactions. In the meantime, I’m sure he doesn’t hate you but you scared him and as prey animals bunnies can be very sensitive to scary noises. If you feel like you’re going to get upset and be loud…[Read more]

CoconutTheDwarf started the topic What rabbit breed is right for me? in the forum HOUSE RABBIT Q & A 5 years, 6 months ago
I do know that it depends on the rabbit but what breed would be best for me? I do know I can’t get a big breed since they will be free roamed in my room (they will be let out not just in my room) I would also want more of a cuddly breed though it does depend on their personality but just the majority? Those are just my circumstances and yes.…[Read more]

Where do you happen to be located? I wonder if you were willing to drive to far away shelters you could find a vet a little farther away? I wouldn’t want to have them too stressed or gone too long, but after the surgery I think they are still out of it for a couple hours anyway. I also wonder if the kids and dog are scaring her…[Read more]

CoconutTheDwarf started the topic What veggies to feed, and how much? in the forum DIET & CARE 5 years, 6 months ago
Hello! I don’t have a bunny and might be getting one soon and I was wondering what veggies to feed them? I heard somewhat about 1-2 cups per day? But how much would it be for a bunny? What foods would be okay to feed them? I was thinking on giving them romaine lettuce, kale, and spinach. Is that enough or should there be a more variety?

I hope you’re doing better, you can message me if you need someone to talk to. I would also give him some time to settle down, he should be okay once everything is calm again for a while. How are you both doing today?

Hello!! I do know you all are bunny lovers and so am I! I am new but I did make this account a little while back and so I will introduce myself before I start talking! Hi, I don’t have any bunnies just two hamsters and some of you may know me as CoconutTheDwarf from the Hamster Hideout Forum! My parents said they will allow me to get either a cat…[Read more]

Glad to hear it’s going better! Did you sleep next to the bathroom and how did it go? Maybe the other day they were already too riled up from bathtub fighting so putting them back for a night gave them a reset. I’m always interested to hear bonding stories since I plan to do more in the future!

DanaNM one of my cats also steals their hay! Sometimes even tries to go in their pen while they’re sleeping just so he can get the hay. He’s obsessed with grass and plants and sticks… I wish you luck with your long road trip! I think some relaxing stops with wet greens and water should help. Do you plan on making stops at hotels to rest? Tha…[Read more]

I also wonder if you ask talk to your vet, if you can get the appointment moved up. I know many vets are only doing emergency procedures, so perhaps if you inform them that your rabbits hormonal behavior has actually been a bit dangerous for your family/kids, maybe they will try to squeeze her in sooner.

I’m sorry to hear about what’s going on, and to everyone’s point, yes. The frustration and distress is absolutely real, and at the same time, she does not intend for that to be happening. I agree that for now, making a semi-permanent (as in until she is spayed and recovered) restricted space (i.e. dog crate open attached to large Xpen(s)) can be…[Read more]

Completely agree with LBJ, this is probably the number one reason people dump their rabbits. They don’t realize that spaying/neutering is pretty much mandatory for pet rabbits and once the poo (or even pee) hits the fan, the rabbit must go. I don’t know who you got her from, but they should have talked to you at length about the importance of…[Read more]

Unfortunately, this is why a lot of rabbits are taken to shelters or dumped. I’m not saying you would do such a thing, I’m just saying that what you’re experiencing is not uncommon and for some people it is a breaking point. It’s very sad because many people don’t realize that a lot of this can be resolved by spaying or neutering. I’m glad you…[Read more]

I adopted a 6 month old Florida White doe rabbit back in the end of August. I have two children, very young aged 3 and 18 months and a little dog who is great/indifferent with small animals.
For a few months she was really great. She had free roam of the house (living room/dining room anyway) all day even when we weren’t home until bedtime. Then…[Read more]

Today we’ve been doing the whole bathroom, and it has been SO much better. Definitely something changed since the last time I tried using the whole bathroom as well. Theo still chases Alfredo but he has room to get away, and after some bunny magic they mutually groomed! I haven’t had to physically intervene since probably 5 hours ago. I’m thinking…[Read more]

As I said to dface I’m sorry I was blocked out if my account and only just got back into this one.
When they took a sample initially it was mainly inflammatory cells and very few “suspect”cells.
It then developed pus, which is very thick unless you warm it up first and it becomes very stringy. It keeps coming to the…[Read more]

Hi
Thanks so much for your help
Sorry for the late reply. I couldnt get into my account for some reason. It was locked, possibly too many incorrect password attempts.
She still has the lump. It keeps coming to the surface and bursting after I apply vaseline and heat.
She’s old and fragile so the vet is reluctant to remove via surgery. A…[Read more]

Bam replied to the topic crying and now my bunny hates me, will he get over it? in the forum HOUSE RABBIT Q & A 5 years, 6 months ago
He will in all likelyood get over this, but maybe not until several hours have passed, or until tomorrow. A really terrified rabbit will not be interested in pellets or treats. So its great that he took pellets from your hand!
Just let him come to you when he wants to. Serve him his dinner like normal, but dont fuss over him too much.
