Thank you so much for your input! That’s what I was thinking but I just needed some more opinions. She will be a happy floor bunny! Thank you again 🙂

I do want what’s best for her – the other concern I have is that maybe she needs a comrade ? I just don’t want her to be bored and to live her best life
this is one of those times I wish I had a yard and a house !

Hmmm ok I might try a pen first and see her reaction before trying with the leash or even without
she does follow us around typically
as for the mites I treat her against worms, mites fleas etc and she has been vaccinated. I do hear you and the concerns and will do some further consideration

Bummer :/
I wouldn’t worry about the cats… since you will be there I doubt they will be a problem (and might actually provide a distraction for the buns to focus on other than each other).

I have a “bunny room”, no cage or condo. I’ve had good luck with using NIC grids to block off places like behind the desk, etc. There was the incident with the drywall, but I managed to stop the temptation to chew by covering the spot with cardboard. Heavy objects work well for dig spots. I like the 12 x 12 ceramic tiles. I just plop them down on…[Read more]

Oh no, I’m sorry Muffin isn’t doing well. Will he eat critical care? Sometimes they will eat it on their own if you make it more of a paste and put it on a plate. I’ve also had good luck with dried willow leaves when they didn’t feel like eating hay. Some food is better than no food, so I would try anything and everything.

To be fair, some bunnies do like going outside. Other bunnies do not. Taking them outside on a leash, however, is not recommended. Leashes and harnesses should be used with extreme caution, if they are used at all. If you insist on taking your bunny outside, a better option would be to set up a pen or run and then supervise them.
The others are…[Read more]

Did you look inside the oval shaped ones? I wonder if they are just 2 poops stuck together.

In October 2020 I rescued a bunny who was being given away on craigslist. She is most likely a florida white, she’s 4lbs and is probably about a year old. She had minor injuries which healed on their own and she has always been a very calm and loving bunny. When we first got her she had very regular green poops but in december her poops s…[Read more]

I think you should stop trying to train her. It doesnt seem to be the right method for your particular bun.
Baby buns are very friendly and unafraid and easy to handle. When they reach puberty (puberty can set in from 3 months of age), they become a lot less interested in being lifted up and held etc.
To adult or semi-adult rabbits, being…[Read more]

Agree with tobyluv. Not only is it dangerous, but your rabbit isn’t likely to enjoy it. They are prey animals, so they feel most safe in familiar surroundings. They don’t enjoy exploring like a dog would. Don’t put your bun at risk because you saw some people online do it. The vast majority of rabbits don’t go outside on leashes, but the few that…[Read more]

Hello all 🙂
My bun Rumchatta is just now approaching 4.5 months old. When she was younger, she loved being picked up and didn’t mind it at all and would even kiss my face when lifted! However, now it’s become a chasing chore!! I’ve read that you should try to build your bunnies tolerance to it for nail clippings and such so I’ve been trying to…[Read more]

Well today did not work out how I had hoped. It got really cold and I didn’t want to take them outside while it’s below zero so I just did a regular date and thought I’d just try to be less handsy and see how that went. Clover bit him in the butt so hard! I pushed her head down and she still wouldn’t let go and he couldn’t get away…sigh. I’m not…[Read more]

Thank you guys. Right now he’s on 1.3ml of metacam every 24 hours. I took him home yesterday evening and I’ve been giving him medicine and lettuce throughout the night. He won’t eat pellets, I saw him eat three pieces of hay during the night and two small pieces this morning. I called the vet back last night and they said I should bring him back…[Read more]

Your bunny is much safer inside. It’s great that she is free roam in your apartment. A rabbit in a harness or leash can very easily get injured. They can choke if they get scared and pull on the leash. I know of one instance where a harness got imbedded in a rabbit’s throat. Besides those hazards, a rabbit outside is exposed to parasites – f…[Read more]

UmisMum replied to the topic Suspected fur mites – how to get rid? in the forum DIET & CARE 5 years, 7 months ago
Thanks for the response. I did just one dose of revolution and cleaned everything out and I can see no bites anymore and fur growing back!
I think she had them since birth or from the pet shop as her ear hair had always been thin and I can see it growing back now.

I have read a few mods on here advise against taking buns for walks on leads but I see so many people online taking theirs to the beach or park and just feel bad mine is stuck indoors.
she’s a free roaming mini lop about 4 months old. Very friendly, not skittish at all and confident.
often when we open our front door to leave or take out the r…[Read more]
