Your bunny is much safer inside.  It’s great that she is free roam in your apartment.  A rabbit in a harness or leash can very easily get injured. They can choke if they get scared and pull on the leash. I know of one instance where a harness got imbedded in a rabbit’s throat. Besides those hazards, a rabbit outside is exposed to parasites – f…[Read more]

Thanks for the response. I did just one dose of revolution and cleaned everything out and I can see no bites anymore and fur growing back!

I think she had them since birth or from the pet shop as her ear hair had always been thin and I can see it growing back now.

I have read a few mods on here advise against taking buns for walks on leads but I see so many people online taking theirs to the beach or park and just feel bad mine is stuck indoors.

she’s a free roaming mini lop about 4 months old. Very friendly, not skittish at all and confident.

Yeah I mean the picture I attached is completely good, but I mean other poops in the evening are really different sizes 🤭

Thank you very much! I’m a lot relaxed now ❤️

Over-grooming seems likely since you observed lots of face grooming. If it is just a bit read, I think it would be OK to keep an eye on for a few days and see what happens. If it gets worse or looks crusty now that they are separated, then I would try to get him seen a bit sooner.

An alternative could be that a sore spot formed, and then the…[Read more]

It sounds like she was removed from her mother a bit early (the general recommendation is for them to stay with mom and littermates till 8 weeks, although some breeders do it earlier), so she is probably experiencing some stress from the change.

Since breeding discussion isn’t allowed on this forum, many of us here don’t have much experience with…[Read more]

Yes, that red sore like thing. In person it just looks red, the picture makes it look like a bump but there’s no bump. I’m thinking it was over grooming but I can’t be sure. I am waiting for a closer vet appointment, I want to make sure it’s not infected or I’d like to avoid infection.

    Hi all!

I was thinking of adopting a rabbit in mid to late March! My bunny Thumper passed away almost a year ago and it shattered my heart. I’m finally feeling ready to open my heart to loving a new companion. I’ve made a post before with questions and got some good answers so I had another question to ask.

For those who have free roam rab…[Read more]

They really aren’t that much different in size. It’s not like they’re coming out of a press. 🙂  They look perfectly fine to me and, as Bam said, dark poops are not really something that needs to be worried about.

Yes, hay is the way to go. Especially when we’re talking about the back teeth.

It’s hard to tell from the picture exactly what this is. Are we looking at a sore on the lower eyelid? Like the other bunny pulled the fur out?

OK gotcha! So yeah… beds are tricky. Hopefully the shower curtain helps, or if not using an x-pen to block access to it might be the easiest option!

As long as his testicles have dropped he can be neutered! And try not to worry too much, even though I always worry too anytime one of my buns has to go under anesthesia. There are many many more neuters that have no complications, it’s just that you hear more about when there is a problem.

I just want to know if you can give Rabbits raspberry and blackberry twigs that still have the thorns (I am assuming not, but then am I shaving the twigs before giving them to bun buns?)

Also I hear it is sacrilege not to include pictures of bunnies – so included a Gif (Kiwi is the black one, Sunny is the white one RIP, Mango is the Happy…[Read more]

    Oh no, poor Muffin 🙁

Hoping he’s improving. Pain can def make a bunny stop eating, so hopefully they can get his pain med dialed in. He might even need a stronger med, as meloxicam is really like the bunny equivalent of ibuprofen.

The (relatively short) story of Sunny, in the eyes of her Step Mom (my live-in boyfriend’s rabbit)

Sunny is survived by 1 sister Binky, and 2 hutch buddies Mango and Kiwi.

I have known Sunny since July of 2018.  She was an elderly bun even when I met her – Alan said she and her sister Binky were about 2 years older than Kiwi, who was 7 at the…[Read more]
