Nope. I’ve even tried giving him piece by piece and he still does it. I just gave him a piece of Carrot and its no problem. It’s anything soft that triggers it. I’m going to get him celery and other crunchy veggies tomorrow to see if it happens.

Hey there! I too have a Holland Lop (about 2.5 yrs old), and I’m currently going through similar issues with a very dirty bottom (and paws). Your points are similar to mine. It was suggested here on BB that I try a screen for the litter pan, not sure if that will work with your buns. Mine spends an awful lot of time in there as well, despite…[Read more]

It might be nice to try. You could start with a gate and see if their behavior is different than in their normal pens. If things look calm you can remove the gate.

I haven’t tried any other sessions, how the rescue did it for their date was basically the neutral area but there was still a gate separating them so I haven’t seen yet how they would react together without a gate, do you think I should do a session of my own in neutral territory with the gate between like what the rescue did or try it without?

After eating any type of veggie he’ll do a motion of like gagging and it’ll clear up but he’ll go back to eating another piece. Im aware rabbits cannot physically throw up so for him to do that motion is very weird and I’ve never heard of it. Its not like there’s an ingrown tooth in the way that isn’t letting him pass his food.

    Yes, the lump was…[Read more]

Ok gotcha, so that is a pretty good amount of time for pre-bonding, but some bunnies do take a long time to settle in. I think since they are running the fence, restricting the area where they can actually see each other might help.

Have you tried any actual sessions since their first date?

I don’t want to go against what the rescue told you,…[Read more]

Sorry we are still having issue with photos, but the work-around is if you add them to your profile, then they will stay in your media library and you should be able to add them to the post that way.

You may not smell the scent glands until you start cleaning them (they have a VERY distinct smell…. kinda skunky).

That said, since the staining…[Read more]

Glad to hear your buns got used to it HipHop! I really like having a fan on too. In CA we pretty much had a window open with the fan on year round, so I’m not used to having things all closed up!

The issue with turning it on when she is out of the room is that it is in the main big room that she’s in. I might see if she can be distracted with a…[Read more]

The only thing you can probably do is work on desensitizing her. Perhaps wait until she is out in the room and then turn it on briefly? I think if she keeps seeing it come on, she will eventually realize there is nothing to worry about.

Soft things can be very attractive for peeing. Are you able to stretch a fleece blanket so it’s tight and it becomes the “floor”?

Since it has only been 4 weeks or less since the spays/neuters, I would also give it more time. Bunnies tend to go a bit bonkers after they are spayed/neutered. They are dealing with changes in their hormone levels.…[Read more]

    Hello everyone!

I am having a small problem with litter training my recently spayed/neutered bunnies. I have four bunnies who were spayed/neutered March 8 and 15. They have yet to catch onto litter training. I have them in their own space and litter boxes and bedding that they like side by side in a closet (with no door) that’s off to the side s…[Read more]

Yes, it does look like a wound caused by the fur being pulled out. And the location suggests this wasn’t done by her.

I’m sure he will be fine. Worst case scenario would be some mushy poops and a gassy tummy.

Thank you so much for the response and the suggestions, I’ll make sure to give them a try! To answer your questions, I have her about 2 to maybe 3 weeks to fully settle in and then I’ve been trying to stick to the pre-bonding every other day and have been doing that for maybe a month now, the people I adopted her from didn’t say when she got spaye…[Read more]

Hay should make up 80% of a rabbit’s diet, they should never be without hay. Agree with Dana, you should try and find a way to get hay for them, keeping a rabbit healthy without it is pretty much impossible.

The same thing happened with my buns! LOL

I’ve always liked to feel the air circulating, and now especially as it’s getting hotter, so my buns have been adjusting to the fan more and more. Overtime (not much, now that I think about it) they’ve stopped noticing it. 🙂

Hope Myra gets better with it soon!!
