Yeaaahhhhh the vinyl is working great for Nora and Fresno because they don’t chew on the pee pads that are covering it, but Quincy chewed up her pee pad, so I put a fluffy bed in there instead to cover the edges, but then she chewed that up, so I put a flat bath mat in there hoping she couldn’t grip her teeth on it which worked for a while but the…[Read more]

    Hello,

I’m new here and am trying to make a hutch for a newly rescued bunny and I am not sure what plywood to use. I know that there are a lot of woods to avoid and I have spent hours and hours going trying to find a plywood type to use.

These are the three that I have narrowed it down to:

There is this one but I don’t know if it is kiln dried…[Read more]

Of course! This is my favorite illustration by oblyvian. We had a post about it on facebook a year or more ago, though I’m not sure you can find it again. It was humorous, but basically if you know your bunny’s date of birth you can read up on that sign’s traits and see if it applies.

Sometimes they also clean up after themselves. Our bun is a senior and almost 9 years old. Sometimes he’s a bit slower on the way to the litter box and drops a few pellets while walking to it. He cleans them up himself. It looks like your rabbit may be doing the same. Alto sounds healthy and properly spoilt 😉

Scattering is a fun way of giving…[Read more]

Yes, thanks Ellie! The hay tea queen!

If Dorian has gotten worse and you end up reading this in the middle of the night (which I hope he has improved!), I second that keeping him warm is important. You can place a water bottle wrapped in a towel near him, so he can cuddle it if he needs to. When Bun Jovi was really poorly on a Sunday night a few…[Read more]

I adopted a 1 year old female bunny in September 2020. I had her spayed by December and she is the only pet I have. I knew bonding would be a lengthly process but I am starting to think she either does not like me or prefers to be alone.

I keep her in a large bedroom, which doubles as my office area. I work from home so most of the time, while I…[Read more]

I’m sorry no one responded to this! How is your bunny doing now?

I think bunnies can go through phases of being more mellow, or they may get a little bored with their environment. Maybe you could give her some enrichment toys for feeding times?

Also for giving oral fluids, I have a much easier time using the 1 mL syringes (thanks for the tip Moonlightbunny).

    Can you take his temp?

If he pooped, I wouldn’t be worried about a blockage. I am not a vet, but personally I would syringe feed. It doesn’t need to be a ton, but you could do a few mL and see how he responds. Since you said he’s molting he prob just has some excess fur he needs to push through. I would keep up the tummy rubs and do another dose of simethicone.

    If you…[Read more]
