Doesn’t have trouble peeing. But still I was worried. It looks like a pee stain to me too.

Unfortunately, the pee and poop is mostly hormone-related at this stage. Litter training will be pretty much impossible until he is neutered because his hormones are telling him he needs to mark his territory. All you can do is confine him to a smaller area until you can get an appointment.

Could it be stress-related? Sometimes self-mutilation can extend over to an adjacent bun.

Young bunnies tend to be on the lean side until they stop growing size-wise. When that happens, they start to fill out more. What are you currently feeding him?

You were being snippy? I didn’t read it like that. No worries. Even if she’s “supposed” to be an 8lb bunny, 1/4 cup of high quality pellet still isn’t an insane amount of food. You could cut it back a little, but I think a bunny her size should get more than a couple tablespoons worth. It depends on the bunny though, what else they are getting,…[Read more]

It looks like a urine stain to me. Since he’s young, the most logical explanation is he is sitting in dirty litter.

Yes, this sounds like gas pain-related behavior. As tobyluv said, you want to keep an eye on the situation and be proactive with helping them work the gas out. Otherwise, if the pain persists, it can lead down the road to GI stasis.

Can anyone tell if this cute baby girl is a mini lop as she was sold as? I have 2 other mini lops only a month older than her and they look a little different. She…

He’s so cute! I’ve got no experience with bunnies and stairs, but we do have a senior rabbit who always loved to climb. He’s a bit stiff and we’ve built a ramp for him to get onto the bed. It’s about 0,5 m high, 1 m long, and 30 cm wide. It’s covered with a sticky anti-slip foam mat. He even runs up and down it, so I wonder how a younger bun will…[Read more]

Breintje is very tiny indeed, he’s about 1,3 kg. For a Netherland Dwarf that’s pretty big, but he’s probably a false dwarf. That means that he didn’t inherit the dwarf gene, but because he’s still a Nethie he’s still a very small bun. My BF’s previous rabbit was a true dwarf girl, a Nethie as well, and she was about 1 kg.

    I once took a picture of…[Read more]

Pretty sure today was just the construction noise. He still came when I called him, but then would run back under the couch and flick his feet and even stomped. The second I closed all the windows and played some mellow music for him he seemed better. He came out from his hiding spots and got in a comfy looking bun loaf. He also flopped a bit.…[Read more]

Some buns play a bit hard to get, especially when they’re young and energetic. At that age our bun was a little bouncy ball of energy and was way too busy playing and tearing up phone books to be petted. I don’t know if she’s a dwarf breed or dwarf mix, but these breeds can be more aloof. Our bun is a Netherland Dwarf.

Rabbits are a prey species,…[Read more]

He’s so curious and adorable! I could never get any work done with that little face following me around the house ^_^

Construction and moult both at the same time sounds very stressy to me, poor Dorian! I’m sorry that I can’t help food-wise because Breintje is super food-oriented. He steals sandwiches and he’ll climb onto a stranger’s shoulder to…[Read more]

Hello everyone, I have a 6-month-old holland lop bunny, and I’m pretty sure he is underweight because when I pet him I can feel his spine and it is quite pointy and his backbones too. Any way on how to make him average weight? I don’t want to overfeed him pellets as he doesn’t eat that much hay. He refuses to even eat hay from the litter box and…[Read more]

It’s very interesting, he really sounds a lot like Myra! The construction could be stressing him out a bit. When Myra is concerned about something, she will snub food. But then she also can have little episodes where I think she is gassy. She also doesn’t really like soft lettuces like butter leaf in general, but will eat them eventually. Molting…[Read more]

No midnight poop pics yet, but I could see doing it 😀

Side question, Dorian isn’t very food motivated, he can resist a banana if it means not going into his room for bed time. He can also be randomly finicky , he has decided he no longer likes butter leaf lettuce. He went through a phase where he didn’t like romaine and now that’s one of his…[Read more]
