She’s also a flat faced bun (lionhead) so I think that’s also a contributing factor to why she got it so bad in the first place unfortunately 🙁
this morning I didn’t hear her sneeze once, and when giving her her morning snack she also didn’t make a sound! When I ALWAYS hear her make that honking sound since her problems started. So it’s su…[Read more]

Thank you for the update!
I’m sorry she’s still having some trouble. I had a bun tht had chronic nssal “stuffiness”, probably related to the shape of his face (he had a very flat face). It didnt improve at all with antibiotics, but it didnt seem to affect him much. He had lots of binkying energy.
The pulmicort (budesonide) is interesting. How do…[Read more]

Is this normal? Above the bald spot, is also less fur but had short dark brown fur. There are a few small red spots; don’t know if this was from me brushing or…
This is roughly all along the hips area on the back side. All over, she had really dense fur before and…[Read more]

Well, I’m going to continue to update this thread so I have a timeframe for my own sake and maybe our experiences can help others in the same situation:
she has now had 2 x rhinostomy surgeries. The 1st she had in September, followed by a nasal flush in October (where saline was injected into the site she had bone removed from previously) and t…[Read more]

Thank you. I kept them in and they have come out of boxes to eat more and Oliver keeps going up to nose Oscar and he just runs off now. Just a min ago Oscar did slowly approach Oliver (who I believe is claiming dominance) and Oliver groomed his nose a few times. So I think they are making up. Thank goodness. I sure appreciate the responses and…[Read more]

I think that’s the current plan. Although last night I woke up and little miss trouble maker was in his pen sleeping with him. So I got up, put her back and reinforced her area. Still don’t know how she keeps getting out. Frankie is scheduled for a neuter within the month and I think I’ll keep letting them have small, consistent interactions while…[Read more]

I genuinely don’t think it’s possible to build something that a rabbit can get into but a cat can’t. My childhood cat used to crawl into wild rabbit burrows to catch them. A burrow-type (pipe or similar, non slippery) entrance to an enclosure may dissuade some cats, but not all. Having both cats and rabbits now, you’d be amazed at the tiny space a…[Read more]

Thank you! I sure appreciate the responses and this forum. It really helps ease my mind. I did keep the boys together and they keep coming out of boxes to eat together. Oscar is a bit timid and runs if Oliver comes up requesting grooming. They seem to be working it out. Oscar just went up to Oliver slowly sniffing noses and then Oliver groomed…[Read more]

Hello! I’m not an expert at all, but I would keep them together and try to not end on a bad note. Maybe something spooked them and you can get back to where you were and decide from there if you want to continue with your plan?
Also I feel your pain. Very disappointing especially after so many hours of doing well.

Little one is Oscar and bigger is Oliver. Oliver is the one that is claiming dominance. Since they came out to eat Oliver started to chase Oscar a little and he ran off and thumped and Oliver left him alone after that. Will keep today going with 100 percent supervision now. I’m guessing it’s good they are moving around and eating, Oscar is just…[Read more]

Ok new update… ugh…..
the boys were about two hours in today and I went to the bathroom and hear a scuffle and came running in to a chasing mess and some fur. I stopped them and they ran to their boxes and are still in them. Should I keep the session going and let them stay in them hide boxes till they settle or end? I’m so bummed. I know I have…[Read more]

Haha, Apollo looks like an angora 😍
I have no idea why the same bun can have such different type sheds. My Snöa looked horrible from June to September last year, I was almost afraid she’d never go back to being pretty again. She did though!
Her recent shed was not at all as dramatic, but it still gave her tummy trouble (I think shedding and…[Read more]

Oh, great!
You can put on some plain neosporin (the kind without an added painkiller) or triple antibiotic cream, if you think it’s necessary.
