Here are a few things about it. EC can tend to leave scarring and pitting in the kidneys that remains when the active infection has passed:

Here’s another article from Dr. Harcourt Brown that mentions it, and about diseases related to calcium metabolism in general (but notice there are many problems…[Read more]

Hmmmm, did this start after the vet visit? Both medical issues and vet visits can upset bonds a bit. Weird smells after coming home from the vet can trigger things. Also, at their ages, it might be good to have full check ups to make sure there isn’t an underlying medical issue.
Do they still snuggle and groom, and has anything escalated to a…[Read more]

I 100% agree with everything Wick brought up about diet and seeing a vet.
I know it can be tempting to give a cute begging bunny treats, but please try to convey to your mom that too many treats could actually kill your bun. When bunnies have wet feces stuck to them, they are at risk of fly strike (especially as the weather warms), which is…[Read more]

Thanks, this is making me think it is molting and spring is definitely his worst one. Hopefully it is nearly over and then I am clear until next spring or maybe fall if I am not as lucky (shedding the summer coat seemed easier for him if I am remembering right).

Ellie he is very much a little prince, a lot of preening and posing royally on pillows to look down upon his subjects (us) … so that description is very apt!

I forgot to mention that her weight did drop a little again after the tiny gain, the numbers are so small though it’s hard to tell what’s really happening. It took 3 weeks for her to lose 100g so that could still be happening, she’s lost about 25g from memory in the past week.
She’s loving all her extra treats and oats, she comes over to me a lot…[Read more]

Hey everyone!
I have 2 neutered boys who have had a sudden change in their bond, any insight/advice?
I have two neutered male lionhead rabbits (R) and (B), both 6-7 years old, have been living together for years now. Recently, one of them(B) showed signs of a hurt toe but they are okay (vet was consulted), but my other rabbit(R) has started…[Read more]

Vtapia started the topic How to over come rabbits death if it was you fault? in the forum RAINBOW BRIDGE 5 years, 4 months ago
my pet bunny recently passed away, I believe it was my fault because I was very negligent and left him out on a hot day. He had a heat stroke, when I came out he was having convulsions. I freaked out and started crying and called for my mom to come help, even thought she came right away, I believe that if I hadn’t freaked out I could of grabbed h…[Read more]

Hay is the most important thing for a rabbit’s diet in order to be healthy and it is what makes poops dry, as opposed to wet. Also, at his age (4yo), he actually shouldn’t be getting alfalfa hay — just timothy. Alfalfa hay (and alfalfa-based pellets, if that’s what you’re giving him) is much more dense in nutrients, which is needed for young,…[Read more]

Hehehe, that curled paw looks a bit like a royal posture in paintings. A daintily placed hand or a bold outwardly facing foot 🙂
He looks so sleek and shiny btw!

My mom tends to spoil the bunnies with more treats then they need. They get a plate of lettuce every morning, some pellets in the morning and alfalfa/timothy hay provided 24/7. He doesn’t seem to eat as much hay as our other bunny does though. Maybe his diet is the reason why his poops are always so wet?

I might need to steal some ideas from that.
So, I wanted to stay away from X-pens since I figured they’d be fairly light and Jumping Jack would push them around, but I found some heavy ones and I use them for outdoor exercise. She doesn’t push them over, so I’m leaning towards those now. A lot easier to use them than NIC grids.
