Alright so. I’ve had my unfixed Flemish giant for almost a year now. He’s a very docile, happy and sweet boy. I decided after scheduling his neuter for this week he’d need a friend to keep him busy while I take a new job.  I got her last night, she’s a 2 month old lionhead girl. I wasn’t planning on bonding them until a good month or two from n…[Read more]

Hello again. Second day in this large room in the bigger pen. All is going well still. Doing 8 hour plus sessions. They do still run up to each other demanding to be groomed. Sometimes the honor and sometimes they don’t. Mostly do. Anyway, will this always be? Or does this mean they aren’t bonded yet if they have to demand it?

Ok, he’s going to the vet on the 27th, is that too late?

If it’s getting worse I’d call a vet and hear what they have to say. A lump under the ear can be something that needs to be opened up surgically or expressed via the ear.

We can’t give veterinary advice here, because we are not vets.

I was once given meloxicom pills (for humans) instead of liquid meloxicam. (It was during the pandemic). I dissolved part of a pill in water so I knew how much meloxicam there would (theoretically) be in a ml of the water/pill mix. I stirred well before measuring up the prescribed…[Read more]

Has this been going on for a long time?

A few weeks ago, during and after a bout of tummy trouble that could’ve been brought on by a heavy shed, my bun had a short period of “shaking” or rather “rocking” while resting. It lasted less than a week. Her body (most notably her ears) moved with each heartbeat, it seemed. I couldnt get a rabbit vet…[Read more]

    Hello
Have your bunnies been fixed yet? That usually eliminates the problem.

    Hey!

What sweet names. It sounds like the sessions have been going okay generally. Bonding can be tough.

I think you are probably just doing too much too soon. The buns should remain in a neutral space, with just hay and water at the most until they are pretty much bonded. Things like blankets etc and Mr. Bunny’s primary space are going to bring…[Read more]

Bam replied to the topic Suddenly poop everywhere in the forum BEHAVIOR 1 year, 11 months ago

If she is 3 months old, she is probably starting puberty. Pee- and poop marking is typical hormonal behaviour. Since she used to be litter trained, it’s likely that she’ll resume “good” litterbox habits once she is spayed and has healed. She’s still too young to be spayed, most vets want a girl rabbit to be at least 6 months old to ensure that the…[Read more]

    Hello!
I advise to move the litter box to the spot that your rabbit is pooing/peeing the most, and then slowly transitioning it back to her hutch. If she wants still wants to pee or poo in the same spot maybe try getting 2 litter boxes and putting one in the hutch. Also, how often do you clean her litter box? I remember once I left mine dirty for…[Read more]

    Hi everyone.

We recently got our first rabbit– a Holland Lop and she is 3 months old. We’ve had her for almost two weeks and she has done AMAZING with litter training. She has had 1-3 pee accidents outside of her litter box. Poop is a different story but she seemed to be improving each day. However, we moved her litter box into her hutch…[Read more]

Hi, so last night my rabbit acted in pain, I’d guess probably going into statis but of course not sure. She wouldn’t eat her favorite treats and refused any food. I had some Meloxicam leftover from a past vet visit that I could give her, which was all she needed to get better. Another time not long ago, another one of my rabbits was getting sick…[Read more]

My rabbit does  slight twitching when he’s lying down of his whole body is this normal? I worry it’s something bigger but might be overthinking. Thanks

I have two bunnies named Mr. Bunny and Princess Potato. Mr. Bunny, our first bunny, is territorial and took some time to warm up. The shelter informed us he is a hard bonder, but he has become very social and even allows strangers to pet him. Since we are often away, we thought he might need a companion. Six months later, we adopted Princess…[Read more]

There is a tiny lump under the skin but I didnt think that would be a problem considering his ear is located just under there. Theres no scratch in that area but he does tend to itch that spot more often.

The fur covering the spot is sticking together though, is that normal?

I’ll try to clean it with tissue paper and see what happens.

    Thank you!

    Ok..

Its gotten worse. His ear is now swelling up and the redness has spread. (He won’t remain still for a picture 🙁).
