HoneyTaakoBuns started the topic Is it okay to shave my rabbit? in the forum HOUSE RABBIT Q & A 5 years, 3 months ago
I have two rabbits, Honeybun and Taako (pronounced like taco). They’re both mini rabbits, Honeybun being a short haired Dutch and Taako being an American fuzzy lop. With long hair. Lots of long hair. I knew what grooming I was signing up for when I got him, but he does not like being brushed. At all. He’ll deal with it for a few minutes during h…[Read more]

I’m currently feeding Oxbow but Burgess Excel is a great brand too. Depends what’s available in your country 🙂

I’m sorry to hear that Remy has floppy bunny syndrome. From what I’ve read, yes it can be fatal but with supportive care rabbits can also make a full recovery. There’s not too much known about it, so I think there are multiple possible causes so it’s important to rule out underlying causes, as if the cause isn’t treated and you only manage…[Read more]

Tomorrow is the day!!! I will be attending a huge adoption event. I have 5 bunnies picked out to meet but if those don’t click a ton of others will be there. The 5 I picked out I think would be the best fit for Tater. There’s one that I really REALLY want and she’s been at the rescue for a while but I have to see if she’s as calm as they claim…[Read more]

hi, thank you very much for your answers.
the vet gave us a painkiller called meloxoral and told us to feed him 0,65ml a day (she said its actually a medicine for dogs but it works on bunnies as well).
i don’t really know why he’s laying like that though, he literally can’t stand up, his legs are really weak, yesterday night i thought i was…[Read more]

Yes, what meds were you given? That could be why he’s laying like that.
Keeping him warm is really important. Make sure he doesn’t get too cold. It is common for their body temperature to drop when they have stasis. As long as there is no blockage, it is safe to syringe feed to keep everything in the gut moving. Sometimes vets prescribe sub-Q…[Read more]

Is it the little tiny spot in the center?

I can’t get a photo of her below her mouth because she moves around, but it looks like a wound, it’s not bleeding but it looks like skin has scratched off (?) it’s because of her grooming and her nails scratch too hard right? Nothing to worry about? 😰 -

It is not to late. Make sure he keeps warm (f ex by giving him a warm waterbottle in a towel). It is extremely important that he is kept warm.
You should support feed him if he isn’t really eating. That he has pooped is great, but he needs food in his tummy continously. Oxbow’s Critical Care is a practical and easy-to-use support feed for poorly…[Read more]

Remy is currently suffering from gi stasis, we rushed him to the vet clinic today cause we thought he had some sort of back problems as he couldn’t even stand up or walk by himself, turns out he actually has gi stasis. The vet gave us some medicine to give him daily and told us to feed him only hay + fruits/vegetables, we’re doing so and he has…[Read more]

Well, if there’s any animal that would flip one the bird, it’s a bunny! 😆
So glad he’s all better. 🙂

Those 2 are so cute. What is Fresno doing, pushing off his food so you think he needs his plate filled?! Haha

Wick & Fable replied to the topic Front Paw Fracture experience in the forum HOUSE RABBIT Q & A 5 years, 3 months ago
As a follow-up: Wick is all recovered!
He is back to full free-roam. Thankfully, his recovery was steady with no hiccups in his energy or appetite. The only lasting consequence is that the finger sort of sticks “up” when he lounges (i.e. it doesn’t touch the ground naturally), so I suppose it’s like he’s constantly prepping to flip the bird,…[Read more]
