Try and wipe it with a compress with lukewarm water. Do the best you can, gently pat dry the nose and observe to see if the stickiness goes away over these next few days. Obviously if you see snot or crustiness around the nostrils or observe frequent sneezing etc, it’s time to see a vet. A bunny cold is highly treatable with antibiotics.

Just use warm water to clean? I’m not sure… it looks like the hair are glued together, I feel it is very hard to clean no matter what it is. And I’ve never seen him sneezing. Some people also mentioned pasturella but I don’t understand how he can get this. They are just stay at home and no other animals in my house.

Hmm… interesting that it is on top of the nose. You would expect it to be under the nose… and then maybe some on top of the nose simply from wiping.
Could he have sniffed something sticky? Perhaps you could clean it off and then wait to see if it reappears.

Hi, I’ve found there is a small patch of dry hair above my bunny’s nose. The hair is dry and hard. Is it snot or something else? He is 6 months old and live with another male rabbit(both neutered). All eating drinking poop wee is normal. Very active. Please see the picture. Thank you.

LBJ10 replied to the topic Is this swelling on my rabbit’s face? in the forum DIET & CARE 5 years, 2 months ago
I saw that, but I wasn’t sure if it was a wrinkle in the skin or a bump under the skin (like an abscess). There also appear to be some drooping of the eye, so then I thought maybe facial paralysis could be at play. I’m hoping the OP clarifies what we’re supposed to be looking at.

It looks like dry skin that stuck to a fur clump that was falling out. Is he shedding at all? Some bunnies will get dry skin when they molt heavily.

“Low grade” URIs can persist for a very long time. I would not assume that he doesn’t have one, even when his symptoms have not progressed very much.

He’s been dumping his food bowls, so hopefully now that we drilled holes and attached with zip ties, he can’t anymore. Of course, he won’t eat the food he dumps.
Also changed the flooring in the pen, went with “hardwood” flooring. Man!!! He had the rips all night. Had tot on it once, hopefully that’s the only time

Thanks so much. We have currently set up the cages about 2 feet from each other just so they can get used to each other being in the same place. Rabbit (that’s the name of our older rabbit) won’t stop staring at Blueberry (that’s the name of our new rabbit) but I think they will learn to live with each other. Rabbit has started biting her cage…[Read more]

Lovely news! Fresh hay is great! I’m lucky enought to know a farmer who grows his own hay for his own horses and he kindly lets my bun have as much hay as he can possibly eat 😃 Rabbits can be so fickle when it comes to hay!

Yay! Keep working on it and hopefully you’ll get him up to where he should be, but in the meantime I’m glad to hear that he’s eating more of it!

I have a post from a few months ago about my most recent bunny not eating hay. I’ve always given him several types of hay to get him to eat and he only eats a little at a time. He wasn’t fed hay before we got him. We just got new bales of hay last week which was baled the week before. He is eating more of this than any hay! It’s still not as much…[Read more]

Aww Masha and Fable are such pretty bunnies! And love the snoozing Binky. Hopefully the mashed potato bonding is going well, they make a cute couple 🙂
Here are some of my first pictures of Ruby, including the drive home, to celebrate getting her a year ago this month.
