Hi all,
So about a year ago I adopted a beautiful blue eyed, pure white fur English Angora. She was living as an outdoor rabbit at the time.
A year on, my dear Rat is absolutely SMITTEN with this bun. They are a team and inseparable and honestly melt my heart.
So, when I first got this rabbit, Bebe. She would just snore constantly (she also has…[Read more]

@SweetPotato – Lol, yep that happens! This is exactly what I was thinking. If the other bun’s gender wasn’t determined properly, there could be a possibility that one’s male, and it isn’t a false pregnancy. I’m not an expert, and I’m not 100% sure that’s the case, but I would still be careful. They both haven’t been spayed yet, so you can never be…[Read more]

I’m so very sorry that you had to make this incredibly hard decision. From what you describe, my opinion is that you made the only good choice for him.
When we take on an animal, we make a promise to not let them suffer unduly. We treat and care for our pets until there is no hope of restoring good quality of life.
I had to say good bye to my…[Read more]

I am so sorry about your baby boy!!! It is just purely heart-wrenching when a bun crosses the rainbow bridge. You made a very brave decision having him euthanized! You loved him so much that you put his needs before yours. I also had to have my baby bun euthanized (hardest decision of my life) Here’s something that made me feel a little…[Read more]

Oooh, I’m so sorry!
Take a deep breath. In through your nose, and out through your mouth. Place your hand on your stomach, and feel your belly go out as you breath in, and in as you breath out.
No one should be burdened with that heavy choice, so I’m so sorry that you were put in the place to make it. 🙁 As your vet said, as well, though: t…[Read more]

I don’t think it’s an immediate concern and monitoring is fine. If there was blood or signs that it is immediately impairing your rabbit, such as lethargy, no appetite, etc., then it is more of an immediate concern.

Hi! I just noticed the fur under one of my buns eyes is pretty wet. It doesn’t appear to be red and there are no apparent signs of injury. Since he was fine over an hour ago, I’m assuming he maybe just got something in his eye? Maybe hay poked him? I know sometimes i get something in my eye and it tears but is ultimately fine — is that the same…[Read more]

I, unfortunatly, also had to go through this with my buns at one point as well. 🙁
My three girls were all very loving towards one another in their early months, so I’d always thought that they’d have no problem. At around the age of 6 months, though, one started getting more dominant over the others. This behavior progressed, until the point of…[Read more]

Ash started the topic Head tilt causing snoring when sleeping in the forum DIET & CARE 5 years, 2 months ago
My rabbit Nala 5 yr male, had a head tilt. It doesn’t bother him except for when he sleeps. His head leans to the side and causes him to snore. The vet says it’s normal, and not a big deal. We keep an eye out though, and do check ups.
I don’t like seeing him uncomfortable though and was wondering If anyone has ever tried a neck brace of some k…[Read more] -

UPDATE: No changes actually. This has been the fifth day on Baytril. I started nebulising him yesterday twice a day. Still sneezing, still nasal discharge. Good side: still very active and eating a lot. This is getting too long. I had hoped for some improvement by now. 😔

Your bunnies actually sound waaaaay better to me than my buns in the “cautionary tale”. They are asking for grooms, flopping against each other, and seem like they do like each other, even if they are still a bit cautious. Mine never did any of that. They stopped fighting… but would more or less avoid each other. I didn’t see any grooming or…[Read more]

Ooh @CinnamonBun that’s a really good point! I’ve heard so many stories about people (even vets!) not being able to determine the right gender of a bun 😂

Wick & Fable replied to the topic is my bunny’s eye okay? in the forum DIET & CARE 5 years, 2 months ago
I can’t say one way or the other unfortunately since I’m not a vet nor can I examine it myself. It really is up to you to assess the best you can. For me, things that would make me concerned is if it gets worse or there are signs that it is distressing your rabbit in any way, impacting his eating, pooping, etc..
