Mp replied to the topic Happy but not bonded? in the forum BONDING 5 years, 1 month ago
The bunnies have been together for 48 hours straight. We started on Monday and two overnights.
They share the food, water and litter trays. They play with the toys together. They mostly take turns to eat the hay while the other does binkies and plays and switch off. When fresh hay is out in they both hop in together and munch.louie grooms Milo,…[Read more]

Yes of course the litter! Elsa is still over us, but my area is largely just inundated with rain. After watching the weather and the forecast I decided it would be less stressful if everyone stayed put in their pen. Had it been windy I would’ve moved rooms to avoid trees. But thankfully all is well here!
im not sure if this exists or is wanted, b…[Read more]

Glad to help. I realized after writing that I forgot to mention an actual litter pan! lol A small one, or a plastic pan like you use in the kitchen sink is handy if you evacuate.
Hope you guys are ok and didn’t lose power. His habitat is still the best place to be after the storm. (So climb in and snuggle your bunny.)

He has dwarf ears, an eye, and a nose. His head is on the left side of the sink. He is facing away from you. He has a big round body and the drain is his tail.

Oh, like a papilloma? It didn’t look like one in the photo. Then again, it may just look weird since it was on the end of the nose.

Before I read your response i started a session in an x pen in the downstairs of my house. I am currently monitoring them. The pen is a square 2×2 grid x pen and I put a tunnel in it. Fluffy went over to moose who immediately put his head down. Fluffy didn’t attack him and gave moose a single lick and just kinda ran away. Im confused why he did t…[Read more] -

Yes moving the animals last is definitely what we’re going to do, I’m much more comfortable having them at our current place until all the chaos is over and then they can join us in a more calm setting. Jasiri is my main concern in terms of settling, she stresses easily.
Dirty litter boxes is a good idea though, keep that familiar smell.

Hi Azerane! Yes, Dana has a good point about moving everything (at least the big stuff) first… then move the pets in. That will help get them settled more quickly.

Thanks you DanaNM, I also think it’s becoz of the grass.
We are not ready yet to get another rabbit, becoz we don’t have much knowledge or experience , and also emotionally we are not ready yet. That was sad to lose a rabbit. A new rabbit can’t replace the old one.How many rabbits do you have? How old are they? Did you lose any rabbits before?

I agree with Bam. It shouldn’t be done unnecessarily. Like I said, it would be in “lesser of two evils” situations only.

Update: Progress! Moose was sitting down and fluffy came over to him. Moose put his head down and fluffy didn’t attack. Fluffy proceeded to flop next to moose!!

dearbunny replied to the topic I'm hopeless about my bunnies' bonding in the forum BONDING 5 years, 1 month ago
Thank you both for your suggestions. I gave up 24/7 bonding since they were constantly fighting. I have rearranged the C&C cubes, they live in the same pen with a grid wall in between. They will be able to see each other all the time. I still let them free roam for a couple of hours each every day. I hope this does not make things worse. I will…[Read more]

Just an update if anyone is facing the same problem as I am:
Appa went to the vet today and was checked for GI stasis and molar disease. The doctor let me know that he feels fine, no drool, no stomach pain, etc. She sent us home with GI stasis medicine just in case and told me to continue observing him and giving him a “smorgasbord” of…[Read more]

For his crusty face, you can try applying a warm compress to see if that helps. Hopefully after his teeth are looked at his eyes may water less.
Flipping buns over for nail trims is a bit controversial as it can be stressful for buns, but sometimes it may be less stressful than the alternative. It could have been a bit too much for him given how…[Read more]
