My buns gut coped much better with more coarse critical care. Plus critical care isnt grain free and she has an intolerance to it.

I would grind her hay, dried weeds and dried parsley in a nut grinder so that they were almost powder but still had some larger strands in which really aids gut movement.  I would add warm water and roll them into…[Read more]

They look quite common kind has had curly claws since we got her but they do improve. A good light really helps when cutting nails to make sure you avoid the quick. If you cut little and often it apparently shrinks the quick so it would be worth persevering with.

My rabbit also loves bottles of ice and tiles to lie on. She also likes the metal table legs. Metal stays cooler than tiles even.

Reflective window film is amazing it reduces over 65% solar. It’s been a god send, if you can get hold of it…

No, the picture makes them look redder than they actually are, they are more of a pale pinkish color.

What they are eating could be causing gas, particularly the carrots.  So if you can avoid it it would help. But its important to get them to eat so their stomach doesnt shut down so I understand the need to get anything down them if they are being fussy.

My rabbit has been in and out of stasis lately  it was originally due to her teeth and she n…[Read more]

    Okay,

I have been giving the Simethicone to him and instead of mixing regular water in with his CC I tried the hay tea- he loved it! This whole time I’ve had to really push the syringes into his mouth to eat but this time, although a bit slower, I could push a dot up and he licks it off happily.

I’ve been seeing a noticable difference with the…[Read more]

Jadeo09 replied to the topic Probiotics in the forum DIET & CARE 5 years, 1 month ago

Sorry to hear about their dysbiosis. Benebac powder is pretty good and a broad probiotic compared to most others I’ve seen.  In humans prebiotics are a great way to feed more beneficial bacteria. Many probiotics dont survive the highly acid environment of the stomach so feeding the small amount of good bacteria really helps them grow. Chicory…[Read more]

It may be the coloring of the photo, but those do look on the redder side to me. Is that the color seen across all of them, or just a few?

Jadeo09 replied to the topic Do bunnies have to eat greens? in the forum DIET & CARE 5 years, 1 month ago

My rabbit is a fussy eater and had gut issues whenever eating veggies. Pellets were causing her dental issues and my rabbit specialist vet advised me years ago to take her off the pellets to improve her dental health. As he does to all rabbit owners.  She just eats hay now with dried weeds like dandelion and plantain just to make it more…[Read more]

The nice thing about sitting on them is that they can’t really kick out and hurt themselves that way. You also aren’t firmly holding them with your hands so you don’t have to worry about squeezing them too hard. They are simply trapped between your legs. Just make sure to tuck your feet in so they can’t back up! From my experience, if you let them…[Read more]

The “pads” of the toes can be visible. This is fine. However, if you see redness or signs of inflammation, then that will warrant a vet visit. Although less common than sore hocks, they can get “sore toes”.

Hello, my bunny has these reddish pinkish spots on her paws. She’s had them for awhile. They look like paw pads.  (I thought rabbits didn’t have paw pads?) They are right behind/ under her nails. These are only on her front paws though. Has any one seen anything like this before?

Yes, his coloring looks like a Charlie to me as well. This means he has two copies of the En (broken) gene. The broken gene has been introduced into a ton of breeds, including Nethies.

I’d definitely recommend bamboo sticks! My rabbit goes wild on them and chews through a pack in a month or so.

I don’t think he has the Hotot in him, I feel like he may be just a Netherland with charlie coloration (a charlie being a broken rabbit with less then 10% coloration) due to there being coloration on the ears and the eye markings not being “winged” like Hotot’s are.

Theres also a possibility that he may be a Polish too? Might want to look in…
