The bunnies got into another tussle this morning with fur getting pulled, mostly fur from Wolfie. It was similar to the tussle a few weeks ago in that there were no injuries and no animosity between them. In fact, pixie almost seemed apologetic afterward. It’s so confusing because they spend so much time together and they haven’t had any fight…[Read more]

It’s very normal for an intact rabbit to pee and poop all over the place, in fact it’s surprising he’s this old and you’re just now seeing this type of behavior. The new puppy most likely flipped that hormonal switch.
There isn’t much you can do except keeping them apart and getting Raf neutered.

I agree with Wick. Rabbits can REALLY love cardboard. I had a bun that insisted on remodelling his cardboard houses in the middle of the night though, so that can be a problem if your bun is free roam and has houses in your bedroom. I had to take away the bedroom houses at bedtime so he had to remodel (=improve) cardboard houses in the living…[Read more]

Thank you so much!
This is really helpful! Cardboard is the majority of Harry’s toys that he does play with, so I am encouraged by your approval of that!
I have bought him chew toys, like grass mats, apple sticks, boredom balls with treats inside, bamboo bowls, etc. He’s only interested in them for a day. But cardboard hidey houses and small…[Read more]

Spay/Neuter
Are your bunnies spayed/neutered? Yes.
If so, for how long (for each)? Numerous months, don’t know exact dates but definitely well past hormones calming down before we even started pre-bonding.
Housing
Please describe your bunnies’ current housing set-up (living together, as neighbors, etc.). Currently neighbors in a bedroom, sp…[Read more]

No, I don’t have any critical care on hand, but I’ll check that link out. I’m not sure they feed the horses pellets here, mostly just alfalfa and orchard grass, but I can still ask. About her having reproductive cancer… I – I don’t know what to do. Getting her spayed is not an option. The risks outweigh the benefits if I’m just going to bring…[Read more]

I took her to the vet, she got some injection with medication. They sent me home with critical care, drops for gas..
She didn’t eat all night not even drank. But it’s weird because she lays down normally, hops around a little. She is not in hunched posture.
She pooped only this morning, nothing all night.
I don’t understand what’s wrong with…[Read more]

You should keep them separate for now. It sounds like your bunny is feeling territorial toward the puppy. Any plans on getting Raf neutered?

I have a 1 and a half year old bunny named Raf, who is unspayed, and two months ago I got a two month old puppy Iroh (who is now 4 months old). They have been introduced and have gotten along for the past month and a half. We took the introductions slow and removed Iroh any time that Raf started to get uncomfortable. In the past week Raf has…[Read more]

Baytril is a common, go-to antibiotic because it’s readily available and broad-spectrum. It seems more and more bacteria are becoming resistant to it though. So if it’s been 3 weeks and there has been no improvement, then I would talk to the vet about switching to a different antibiotic. It is recommended that a course lasts for at least 2…[Read more]

Good news — here is one example of Critical Care on eBay that will ship to Saudi Arabia: https://www.ebay.com/itm/265222561117
With this and pellets being available on eBay or, as DanaNM points out, timothy pellets for horses possibly being available locally, it does sound like it’s better to do that than to use oats. I’ve been told that…[Read more]

So glad to hear he is doing better! Yes, simethicone always seems to do the trick for me as well. I’m glad the pain he was in was “just gas”. That is relatively easy to manage in most cases.

GrumpyBunny replied to the topic How can I get my buddy to eat his hay? in the forum HOUSE RABBIT Q & A 5 years, 1 month ago
The vet did check for ear infection, but didn’t discuss E cuniculi. My assumption when I took him in was an ear infection or possibly cheat grass had gotten into his ear, but the ears were clear. His hay consumption has always been fairly low, we’re always buying new hay types to try to get him to eat it. I have been offering him small handfuls of…[Read more]

Ah, I understand! Do you have critical care? I’m guessing no?
I know they sell straight timothy pellets for horses, so perhaps those might be easier to find?
In my mind, the weight dropping is a more of chronic problem, and it would be important to rule out a medical cause for the weight loss before just adding in new high-calorie foods that may…[Read more]
