Abi is being a bit stubborn. He refuses to poo and pee in the litter box, and instead he poos and pees outside his litter box. I have all his hay in the box and I put his poops in there too, but he still refuses to use it. Is there anyway I can get him to use a litter box?

GardenBunny started the topic Kitten with French Lop? in the forum HOUSE RABBIT Q & A 5 years, 1 month ago
Hello! I’ve found myself in an unusual situation with need of wisdom. I have a 11 pound French lop boy and I know he gets lonely without my old roommate’s kitten because they spent over half a year growing up together. The picture attached is them just chilling together. She’s coming back eventually but it led me to realize that he honestl…[Read more] -

It looks pretty minor to me. I would continue to monitor and if it seems to be getting worse, mention it at the appointment next week. A small graze should heal fine on its own.

Sorry I don’t have enough experience to really help, but thought I’d chime in just in case. I wonder if she had some hard times before getting adopted to you? It may just need more time. I wonder if you could change up her set up that would help. Not sure what kind of cage but they are happier typically with as much room as they can have. It…[Read more]

How has this been going for you?
I have two mini lops that are not so mini 🙂 I am in the process of free-roaming them. They have access to the living room, hallway way, kitchen and for special treat days the stairs and upstairs hallway. I have cardboard boxes randomly placed because that’s what Harry likes to chew the most so it helps with…[Read more]

Is this bad? I think she may have got it from scratching her ear too hard as her nails do need cutting (they will be done at vets next week). It looks more red in person and it doesn’t seem to be hurting her.
Should I clean it, if so what do I clean it with?
Also, whilst I’m here, has anyone got any tips to help keep my rabbits cool? It’s the m…[Read more] -

Cinnimon&Ollie started the topic Hay bales in the forum DIET & CARE 5 years, 1 month ago
I am looking for places to get orchard grass hay bales, not online I want to see the hay to make sure it’s good. My bunny is a princess and only eats the best. I have been looking around but only found Timothy hay which my mom and sister are allergic to, or alfalfa which my bunnies are to old for. I live in the Chicago land area.

What do you mean by the same place? That the litter boxes are in the same place? That the bunny’s are in the same room? Sorry if this is a dumb question.

I’ve tired. She runs away and tires to hide so I give her space to cool down. She is so dramatic at times lol She wasn’t this skittish before being bonded. Maybe I’ll try when she’s eating and close to her hubs.

Have you tried handplucking off tufts/areas that have released when she is close to her bondmate? You can sometimes get a significant amount while they are occupied eating veggies or pellets.

my one bun hates being brushed or pet. She is molting and I’m not sure how to get the excess hair off. I’ve tired several brushes and wetting my hands or a paper towel but she just hates it. She also doesn’t really like to be pet so I try not to force interactions on her but her hair is everywhere and I’ve read they can get statis from it. She is…[Read more]

Wick & Fable replied to the topic Pre bonding litter box in the forum BONDING 5 years, 1 month ago
If it goes “backwards”, it will likely be more because of the bonding process– not swapping the boxes. Litterbox behavior is something that can be polished in the future as well, so I wouldn’t let concerns about it prevent you from doing swaps as a pre-bonding measure. Most likely, it won’t impact anything litter habit wise, as long as they are…[Read more]

I am bonding them currently, but switching there litter boxes or them into each other cages would help. My rabbit who was already 100% litter box trained is still 100% litter trained, and my rabbit who is 90% litter trained I am currently litter box training but it is going well so I don’t want it to go backwards.

I let my rabbits free roam when someone is home so they can be checked on regularly. I have noticed that they get very curious about things they know they aren’t really supposed to do when they think nobody is watching. They’re basically 2 year olds/toddlers so you always have to keep that in mind. I have a nice big 2 story condo with a big dog…[Read more]

GI stasis typically cause a bun to have a lower than normal temp -which is dangerous. Rabbits that are stressed-f ex by a vet visit, which is always somewhat stressful for a rabbit – can cause somewhat elevated temperature. How hot or cold the ears feel is not a reliable way of determining the bun’s core temperature. I would think your vet took…[Read more]
