I think this happens to all pet owners sooner or later. Styptic powder is a good thing to have on hand.

If you dont have styptic powder it can take quite a bit of time before the bleeding fully stops.

Argh thanks for that, I jist hope we don’t go back to square 1. When I saw them fighting I thought that they’d never never able to get along after that,so I’m glad they’re pottering alongside each other nicely now, although I’m on edge and darent take my eyes off them now, and they’re only having little dates for the time being. I’ve no idea what…[Read more]

First, your bunnies are adorable 🥰. Secondly, TWO YEARS! I am bonding my bunnies now and I hope it goes quicker, I wouldn’t be able to be bonding them for 2 years. That must have been really frustrating.

You have done everything possible, good bunny parent!

I had a Peruvian G.Pig that was very neurotic.  I accidentally gave him a heart attack while trimming nails.  Pretty traumatic for a kid!  Because of that, I’d never have another Peruvian.

When I cut a quick now, I stop, calm the critter, take a deep breath to calm me, get the bleeding st…[Read more]

I know this is kinda late but I strongly recommend to not put your rabbits in a hutch outside there are way to many risks. There is RHDV2 which is a deadly disease for rabbits spreading rapidly. There is also the risk of ticks, fleas, and other bugs. Then there is a risk of birds, and animals grabbing your bunnies for a meal, they break through…[Read more]

So sorry for your loss.  No matter the age, it always sucks.

You sound like you are awesome people who did all you could.  The kind of people who should adopt another, or two, and share the love.

    We are here for you.

Thanks.  Why can’t genetic engineering figure out how to make dogs live longer?

    Hello all.

I have a male and female that have been bonded for maybe three years and I’ve had them for even longer. They’re rescues, I estimate they’re both at least 7 years old now. They’re both fixed, I bonded them myself, everything went smooth and only took a few weeks. I moved them into my apartment with me about two weeks ago into a…[Read more]

Super lucky!  I guess they were just meant to be.  🙂

Oh that’s really helpful to know about the warning signs — thank you so much, DanaNM!

I have an Eufy 11S, which I consider the dumbest of the robot vacuums, haha. It doesn’t have an app or accessories that lets you designate where it can/cannot go, so it’s very much a bumpy process and I steer Eufy a lot of the times.

That being said, I absolutely love Eufy, especially for fur maintenance. Depending on your furniture…[Read more]

It sounds like it’s going well aside from that fight! I wonder what triggered it? But good that things are getting back on track. As much as we work to prevent fights, sometimes they are unavoidable.

I don’t think 4 nights without bonding sessions will undo your progress, especially if they are housed side by side. That time in an unfamiliar…[Read more]

These things happen to the best of us, so try not to feel too bad! You were doing the right thing by trimming her nails, and even going above and beyond by going to the vet.

Usually a bit of pressure and some corn starch or styptic powder will stop the bleeding pretty quickly, so it’s good to have one of those on hand for nail trims.

That is so lucky! It’s so nice when they just go together like that. 🙂 And yeah if they will be away from home a lot then separating is def the way to go.

For reference, the main warning signs of trouble in a bonded pair would be chasing, fur pulling, excessive mounting, lunging, or any aggression or tension at all really.
