The fur can feel rough while one “layer” is missing. Rabbits as a rule have both wool and guard hairs and they shed them at slightly different times. If she were a different color you’d be able to easily distinguish the two types of hair with your eyes, but in an all white bun there’s no color difference between the layers.

    Shedding in July is…[Read more]

I’m so sorry you lost Apple. It seems she went peacefully in her sleep, which is a blessing of sorts.

It’s very hard. All those little things. The sound of their feet when they run across the floor. The twitching nose, the softness of their fur when they come and put their head in your hand.

Apple was lucky to have you. Not all buns get to be so…[Read more]

Apple was my giant holland lop that I loved with all my heart. I feel so awful that I couldn’t be there for her when she passed. I had come home from work and found that she had passed in her sleep. I hope she didn’t feel alone and that she knew that I loved her so much. It’s so weird to see the cage empty and the silence is even worse. I won’t…[Read more]

I recently lost my beloved Lethal White Aussie, Sara.

She had been having issues for awhile.  We kept trying to fight it.

Always, with euthanasia, we say to ourselves…too soon, too late???

I kept hearing in my head ” it’s time”.  I sure hope that was my Sara telling me it’s ok to let her go.

There is a line. It’s almost like a indent in the one spot. She’s been shedding like crazy. There is hair everywhere. I’ve been (thanks to everyone’s advice on a different post) brushing her twice a day when she’s eating. I don’t think the line is all from me brushing her because I just started that this week. I don’t think her bond mate has been…[Read more]

I also recommend the tractor supply pellets.

As a side note, increased drinking/peeing can be related to other things aside from boredom, so make sure to monitor if it may actually be a sign of some sort of ailment, like teeth discomfort.

Also, it is actually very positive that your rabbit is “ruining” toys — most rabbit toys are consumable and…[Read more]

It’s a bit hard to see on picture for an all white rabbit, but it looks like a typical molt line.

Do you perceive your rabbit is molting? A molt line like that is big, meaning a lot of fur has been shed. Ideally, you should be the one removing all that fur, not the rabbit. Have you been noticing a lot of shed fur?

that sounds a bit like Dorian, he’s all about the dramatic flops and a good long lounge. He does binky, but it’s pretty rare usually it’s just little half binkies, same with zoomies. No idea what sets him off when he does either, but it does seem like it is usually when something new and exciting happened that day. He is allowed on the deck when…[Read more]

I would recommend tractor supply pine pellet stall bedding. Lots of people on this forum use these bedding. It is not expensive which is great!

My rabbit loves pets but hates being brushed. It’s taken her a really long time to warm up to it. I find I get luckier if I distract her with something else, like greens or a chew stick.

Hi! My rabbit is 2 years old and spayed and has been otherwise healthy. Last night she stopped eating, was grinding her teeth, and kept shifting around like she was uncomfortable. I brought her to an emergency vet and they diagnosed her with GI stasis and sent me home with pain medicine and something to help keep her digestive system going. This…[Read more]
