Thank you so much for the reply Bam!
I will go check the link out right away. I’m reassured to hear you did the interraction over a few weeks as I was worried if our pup stayed too long without seeing them there would be “what are you doing in my house” reactions. I will go slower and post updates when I see ameliorations.
Have a great day and t…[Read more]

Congratulations on your new puppy!
First of all, my advice would be to go veery slow. Dont introduce the dog and buns directly yet. Keep washing your hands before handling the buns after handling the pup. There is no way to stop the rabbits from picking up the dog’s scent, so if you let this happen slowly and gradually, the buns will most likely…[Read more]

Hello everyone!
I hope you’re all doing well and staying safe.
I created an account here because I have some issues with my bunnies and I thought it was best to have advice here.
I have two rabbits. One is 2 years old, and was a rescue. He’s very small and shy, and we think he might have been beaten before we rescued him as he is missing an eye…[Read more]

Some bunnies seem to have stomachs of steel. Still… it’s not good for them to eat non-food items. If your bunny is actually eating the fleece, you should take it away.

That’s good. I’ve read that if a gastric distress were to happen, it’d show signs within 6 hrs due to how fast rabbit digestion is. I’d say he’s likely fine at this point unless you notice anything unusual.

Okay. I put fresh hay in his cage everyday, and have a rabbit experienced vet near me. I woke up this morning and saw that he drank a ton of water like eat more than he normally does is this good or bad?

Okay, thank you so much! I feel so relieved. She still eats and poops just fine. I was just worried cause she’s always tired. She runs around the house, does one or two binkies, and she’s done for a while. I was thinking maybe she could be like this cause it’s hot or just plain lazy. I just wanted to get another opinion. Thanks again!

My apartment seems to have a lot of weevils in it lately and it also seems like they are feeding off my bunny’s hay!! Not sure what to do because I can’t kick my bunny out of his room for a few days to spray insecticide, my apartment is very small. Even if I scrap all the bunny hay, he still has to have hay in his litterbox, plus he gets the hay…[Read more]

Based on what you’ve mentioned, I think heat may be the main factor here, especially if she’s always been like this. The signs/huffs can actually be a sign of relaxation too. As long as her health-related behaviors (energy, poop, pee, appetite) seem normal/unchanged, it sounds like she is sighing in the heat of the moment, perhaps!

1.) Yes and yes. I took her to Northwood Animal Hospital. They are very experienced with bunnies.
2.) I was told by the rescue that she was 10 months (now is 11 months). But the vet said she thinks she’s around a year to a year and a half (not that big a difference).
3.) Yes she is spayed. I got her 5 days after she was spayed, so she’s been fix…[Read more]

I know you’d like answers, but a few questions first to narrow down what might be going on:
- Is the vet you saw a 1) rabbit-experienced AND 2) exotic veterinarian?
- How old is your rabbit?
- Is your rabbit spayed? If so, how long?
- Has she always been this way?
- What is her diet (content + quantities)?
- Is it relatively hot where she is housed?

Hello, my bunny doesn’t have much energy. She sleeps almost all day. She also breathes super fast and sometimes “sighs” or “huffs”. I took her to the vet and she said her lungs are normal and she is healthy. But I’m a first time rabbit owner and am still not certain if this behavior is normal. I’ve had her for a month now. I’m not sure if she’s j…[Read more]
