My apartment seems to have a lot of weevils in it lately and it also seems like they are feeding off my bunny’s hay!! Not sure what to do because I can’t kick my bunny out of his room for a few days to spray insecticide, my apartment is very small. Even if I scrap all the bunny hay, he still has to have hay in his litterbox, plus he gets the hay everywhere. Won’t the weevils infest his hay too after I get rid of the old stuff? Wondering if anybody has had this problem and what they did to fix it? I know weevils are harmless but I despise bugs after a bad year trying to get rid of bed bugs!! I don’t want any bugs in my home lol.

Hmmm I haven’t encountered this issue! Do you know if they came from a particular bag of hay?

I have used food grade diatomaceous earth for insects (ants and fleas) around my home and it is safe for use around rabbits, as long as they aren’t breathing the dust.

I wonder if you could remove all the hay you currently have, put bun in a carrier for the afternoon in the bathroom or something, and then dust all around your floors etc. with diatomaceous earth. Then vacuum it all up and put bun back with some brand new hay?
