First and foremost, I’m inquiring about a specific topic. As I am a very particular individual, please do not comment or make suggestions outside of the scope of my inquiry please! I’m not asking for advice about other, better, pet fountains or anything. I just want an answer to my stated inquiry below. Nothing more, nothing less.
I purchased a…[Read more]

Thanks @Wick & Fable! That video is too cute! We do that type of play, rearranging toys so that he has to put them in their proper place is an ongoing game. For a while he would bring me his ball, it was adorable, but he decided it was no longer cool. Occasionally we do a little game where I fluff his bunny bum and he runs from me and then runs…[Read more]

Rabbits don’t really ‘play’. My opinion is, although I will use the word ‘play’, I interpret it more as a rabbit expending its energy. I do “play time” with Fable, where she will pester me in the morning to be her toy holder: https://www.reddit.com/r/Rabbits/comments/pbsvjm/redirect_chewing_energy/?utm_source=share&utm_medium=web2x&context=3

Okay, for now I will leave him be, but if it happens again I am definitely going to take him to the vet to rule out the possibility of dental problems. Thank you to everyone for all of your input! I will keep you posted if there is any change, but for now my bun is back to his good ol’ self. Fingers crossed he stays that way🤞.

I have had Dorian for almost two years now, and we have most things figured out. But one I just not sure about still is how to play. How do bunnies play with each other? I will get on the ground with him and he gets all excited and we sort of try playing, but I always feel he is disappointed with me for getting it all wrong.

prince dorian the bun replied to the topic Afraid of Strawberries? in the forum BEHAVIOR 4 years, 12 months ago
Dorian is very wary of new foods, not my new houseplants or my snacks mind you, just stuff he can actually eat. He hasn’t been quite as dramatic as Tater, but he will run away and watch it from a sheltered area for a bit. Sometimes I have to eat it first. He actually prefers the tops of strawberry to the berry, he hates papaya and will toss it…[Read more]

Actually the play area I’m going to make is 0nly 8×10, so would that be okay?

Yes, unless it is insanely obvious, a vet would not be able to see a dental problem simply by glancing in the mouth. Molar spurs are often small and, as Bam said, it is very difficult to see in there without using an otoscope. I would definitely have dental problems ruled out just to make sure that isn’t what is causing the problem. Some bunnies…[Read more]

For a smaller space where they will be unsupervised but sharing a wall, I recommend using a mesh small enough that they can’t nip noses through. You can use 1/4″ hardware cloth, or these small mesh grids:

Thank you for all your help,
I will try to use a seperater for inside the huge dog cage for when they sleep and they can still see each other so it makes me feel alittle better and I will switch off putting them in the playpen for exercise or split that in half too.
I’m new with bunnies so this has all been very helpful. They have an…[Read more]

I agree that a second x-pen is probably the easiest solution! I’ve also used NIC cube grids to make temporary cages and fencing for bunnies in various phases of the bonding process.
And yes it’s normal to feel guilty, but it’s best to separate while they still like each other so when you re-unite them (post-hormones), they will hopefully be like…[Read more]

I’m so sorry to hear that. 🙁 True bloat is very often fatal.
Again I’m so sorry for your loss.
