Seems like he might be having some gas troubles.
You do not want to forcefeed when there is a blockage, so see here for guidance on how to try identifying it at home: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=iVW6Rw5rZzo
If it is just gas pain with no blockage, some at-home treatment can be effective in helping him get through it. If it is approach…[Read more]

My rabbit always come when called and this time he didn’t so I checked up on him and he keeps staying in that position. His stomach is not hard. He can run when I tried to force feed and walk properly. But he keeps lying in the nearest place with his legs tucked in. Please help?

Click “Add Media”, then click the “Upload Files” tab on the pop-up window. It should let you then select the uploaded picture in the “Media Library” section to “Insert into topic”.

Yeah, I think at this point they probably shouldn’t have play time together either. Can you get 2 play pens so they can run around side-by-side?

Is he fully free-roam? We’ve had a few members with free-roam bunnies that became overly territorial. They had some success with penning the rabbit to a smaller area part of the time, so they became less possessive over the rest of the house (also is a nice option for if he’s being crazy when she’s over). Having the bun have a smaller area that is…[Read more]

I’m glad he’s doing better! That’s very scary and lucky that you intervened in time.

Agree with LBJ10, could be unrelated to the trimming. Ringworm sometimes shows up on the paws first.

Having the bun not put weight on a front leg and swelling at the injection site is a side effect of Eravac and Filivac as well (not sure which vaccine you got!). It usually resolves within 24 hours (at least the leg favoring). Is he eating and pooping OK? Some extra fluids might help him feel a bit better too.

Has anything changed with your girlfriend, whether it be the soap she uses, having/interacting with other animals (dogs, cats, other rabbits….), and/or is she entering a new space she hasn’t in the past with your rabbit (ex. you moved your rabbit to a new spot in the house and she’s entering the new territory)? Has he always been aggressive to…[Read more]

We got a bunny in spring this year, he’s about 9 months old now. I work at home so he’s always around me. Lately, he’s been aggressive towards my girlfriend. When she’s around him he always running at her feet, scratching at them and sometimes nipping her ankles. It’s gotten to the point that he’s randomly biting her hand and any other part that’s…[Read more]

Oh thank you so much for your quick reply! Strange – he’s never had that reaction before to his vaccine but maybe because of the hot weather like you said!

Lameness and skin lesions are known side effects of the Cylap vaccine. I know we have had other members whose buns have experienced similar things after having received Cylap. It might be that the vaccine pools under the skin at the injection site and give rise to these side…[Read more]

Hi everyone!
Our very active bunny started limping this morning and will not put any weight on his front foot. I assumed he had sprained something but I just found this really angry looking red patch on the top of his leg/shoulder which is quite swollen and causing the limp – please see below photo.
He had his calicivirus vaccine yesterday but…[Read more]

I used Plantnet to identify the picture. It gave me Aglaonema commutatum, Chinese evergreen.

Where was the irritation? You said around the nail. Do you mean on top? Or is it on the “pads” of her feet? If the irritation is on the top of her toes and around the nails, then it may not be caused by the flooring.

LBJ10 replied to the topic Rabbit nibbled on Chinese Evergreen Plant in the forum HOUSE RABBIT Q & A 4 years, 11 months ago
What is the plant?
Most plants labeled as toxic to plants are probably not going to cause any harm through simply a nibble. Symptoms of poisoning come rather quickly, within a few hours. If nothing happens, then you’re likely in the clear. Watch for things like drooling/foaming at the mouth, lack of appetite, lethargy, and even seizures.
