I would go with the oxbow critical care. The bag lasted through my bunny spay with leftovers. Veggies on top of it would be great but I differently recommend the oxbow critical care.

Hello!! As prior to my question about post spay care, I wonder if we could feed/syringe feed our bunny blended vegetables such as lettuce, cilantro, etc. mix with a little of water or medication given by the vet to make it kind of a smoothie for them when they are not eating or have no energy to chew and eat from the bowl,, I know there is…[Read more]

@Wick I’m so surprised it’s taken a while for his paw to heal. It goes to show how much they can weight bear on those front feet at times. I was thinking this recently when watching TimTim jump off the bed. He does it with ease but I wonder what strain it puts on those bones. I do have a low thing at end of bed he could go down half a level fir…[Read more]

Well done, Apollo! I found this older photo from back when he had defined abs. Might inspire him further?

If increasing greens helps with weight loss, I’m ongoing on this diet too. Do I have give up chocolate though?

I can hear the short “hum” sound. “Mm Mm Mm”.
That’s usually hormonal humming. Although, long term desexed rabbits will still make this sound from time to time.

The only hairless rabbit I know of is Mr. Bigglesworth. There are, as you say, hairless piggies, cats and dogs and rats, but hairless buns doesnt seem to be a thing. Maybe they would be difficult to keep because rabbits don’t have padded feet. They need to have hair under their feet.

Was just curious if anyone has had a hairless rabbit?
I find hairless critters fascinating, had a hairless rat once, Montel… sweet boy.
Pet a hairless cat once….so soft and warm!
Would kill for a hairless Guinea Pig!!😁🤪😜

I recently moved back into my college dorm room with my rabbit and cat. Theo (French lop rabbit) has always had some issues with litter training but never this bad. It’s been about two months since his neuter and his aggression and bathroom habits are at an all time low. He goes on my bed, my desk, my roommate’s desk, the cat tree, by the oth…[Read more]

Yes Apollo has always been a little more difficult with his weight, I’ve always just assumed that as part New Zealand White he was just more inclined to put on weight being a meat breed and all that.
Luna’s kidney troubles started with E.c earlier this year, she has a heart problem too but the kidney medication fortunately works for…[Read more]

Also very happy to hear these updates!! Really glad you started the chat thread too 🙂
I have come to realize, anecdotally, that weight management can just be harder for some buns then others, in both gaining and losing weight… And also sticking to diets is hard, haha.
I didn’t remember Luna was having kidney troubles, but how great that…[Read more]

Nope, no thread yet.
I’m glad to hear the new diet is working out. I know it can be hard to stick to diets, including pet diets. LOL

I would block off the shelf at first. Jumping should really be discouraged. I think having Boo somewhere where he can still see her is a good idea. So yes, if he can be in the pen all the time, that would probably work just fine.

In my opinion, either is equally viable. It’s more about personality that the sex of the bunnies. My boys absolutely adored each other. Plenty of people have male-male and male-female pairs. I think female-female are harder since girls tend to want to defend their territory more.

White rabbit, white rabbit, white rabbit!
I couldn’t see an Oct chat thread yet, hoping I didn’t miss it.
I just wanted to share that Apollo, who has been overweight for about the last 1-2 years has finally started losing weight again. I buckled down on their diet and have increased leafy greens on an actual set schedule rather than once in a…[Read more]

If all goes as planned, Walter gets spayed tomorrow.
From what I gather, I should keep her locked up in her cage, particularly since she likes her morning zoomies in the pen.
So, be best to line cage with pee pads or fleece then?
There is a shelf in the cage, it’s not tall, but it reaches the bowls…I hope that isn’t too much of a jump
Also…[Read more]

Thank you for the information. Another question though, is a male-male pair better or a male-female pair? I’m not sure which I should be looking for.
