Good luck. I am going through a similar situation and agree about rabbits being underappreciated. I hope everything works out with a new friend for Ta.

Sudocreme would be harmless to ingest in the quantities we’re talking about here. It won’t of course do any good though, since he licks it off.
Is the carpet soft? You can test it with your elbows. If its abrasive on your elbows when you put some pressure on and move them across the carpet a little bit, its probably too abrasive for hocks that…[Read more]

Susanne replied to the topic Starting over with Ruby in the forum BONDING 4 years, 10 months ago
Yes, so far he is settling well. Ruby has started marking a little, and aggressively chasing him down the fence, but I’m not too worried because she’s also spending time sleeping at the fence and has really perked back up. She is flopping and doing binkys again 🙂
Here are some pics, I’ll update once I start bonding sessions- but hoping it goes smoothly.

Very good!
If she’s eating now, you can try giving her simethicone baby gas drops in case she has a bit of gas. You give 0.5 -1 ml gas drops once per hour for three hours, then “as needed”. Gas drops are not taken up by the body, they pass through with the poop.
Is she shedding now? Some buns get a bit of stomach upset when they shed. Is she a…[Read more]

If a bun is eating less it will be (rather obviously) be pooping less. Regardless of whats causing the inappetence, it should be treated as a gut slowdown, which soon can lead to gut stasis. The primary aim is to get her eating and pooping again.
How long has this drop in appetite been going on? Is she active or does she mostly lie still? Are her…[Read more]

She doesn’t seem in pain however, and her head was always slightly tilted like that… but these days she’s been eating and pooping less. -

Hi all
New to the forum, so hoping for some advice about my rabbit. He is 2 yrs old, was neutered in March so 7 months ago. We rescued him in June so 4 months ago. I took him to a rescue shelter to try out some rabbits for bonding. I left him with the shelter and I got a call from the owner who said she thinks he’s still hormonal even though he’s…[Read more]

Thank you guys so much for the suggestions! I really like the cardboard egg carton suggestion especially.
I was so excited when we actually got a phone book in the mail. Can’t believe they don’t care about it at all. I’ve also discovered that they’re chewing the wooden frame around the door, so the sooner I can find something that’ll work, the b…[Read more]

If it’s just for a day, your rabbits should be fine!

You are setting her up to be as good as she possibly can be by having a vet see her ASAP. Unfortunately, as much as I wish we could say everything will be all right, we are not vets and cannot diagnose online. But again, taking her to the vet is the best course of action.
It is a great sign that she is eating and drinking though.

My bunny, Molly, is 3 and unspayed (i know its bad I didn’t realize how important it was until recently) and i have noticed red or bloody urine for a few weeks now. I called the vet when it first started and the receptionist said it was normal and i stupidly believed her. Its been a few weeks of on and off bloody urine and today i noticed a lot of…[Read more]

If you have a rabbit experience vet near you they can cut their nails his nails for you. I took my bun when she was little to my vet ( she was very wiggly ) and it cost 5 dollars. Light is your best friend if you are doing it from home with black nails. It helps you see the nail better and where to cut

Okay thanks will do. Can’t do the grass though because even though we don’t use chemicals everyone else around us does so I don’t want to risk it incase some blew over to our yard.
