My impression is that prey-drive in pit bulls is really variable, and can be species specific. I know of some pits that would just run into the bushes and come back with small-mammal prey routinely, but have an acquaintance who had a pit around their house rabbit, and he completely ignored it. But, he was OBSESSED with crows! He would stand in the…[Read more]

So, I only have experience with a failed quad, LOL, but here are my thoughts.
I completely understand the desire to get them bonded to make things simpler (and also improve the buns lives, because they would presumably get more exercise time and space). But, in my experience, putting pressure on you (and them), to be bonded as quickly as possible…[Read more]

Oh and agree about the eye… It wasn’t so bad to hinder the progress but a few times I went and distracted her. By the end of 9 hours in neutral she was less concentrated on his eyes and groomed more normally.

Well, the room downstairs wasn’t really good for doing 24 hrs, especially not more than that. They were getting good enough to step away a few minutes at a time however, and I decided I could make it work if I have to.. that said, I thought I’d try semi neutral today knowing I can always step back to neutral. You’re right there was still some…[Read more]

That sounds great!
I would prob opt for a longer session (maybe an overnight or two, or 24 hrs) in neutral before moving to semi-neutral. They sound like they are doing really good, but with just a bit of lingering tension that I would want to see go away before moving to semi-neutral. You can also introduce a brand new or extremely clean litter…[Read more]

I’ve posted in the past… long time ago and we have been under continuous vet care for more than a year still. Just looking for some input as I’m at a dead end with what else I can do.
Charlie is a little over a year old. We have been dealing with URI for over a year. She has been on antibiotics for most of her life now. Since she was 10 weeks…[Read more]

No the answer is perfect.
dad has been neutered hence the unexpected birth. Mum can’t be done now until weening and baby’s are free from milk.
I knew about the time of year thing, and them needing to adjust to winter so they grow the correct coat.
I was just more concerned about the new one coming in the house for a few hours everyday and the…[Read more] -

Especially as a house rabbit forum, BinkyBunny’s view is that rabbits are considered truly bonded if 1) both rabbits have been spayed/neutered and 2) they have gone through the bonding process (https://binkybunny.com/infocategory/bonding/). Alongside this, rabbits who are intended to live together in the same enclosure must be bonded. If neither…[Read more]

Afternoon.
I have a bonded pair who live outside in a large walk-in aviary. They recently had an unexpected litter of two. We are going to keep one of them and the other is being re homed.my question is – with my new rabbit (once old enough) can I bring it (don’t know sex yet) inside through out the day and put it back outside during the late af…[Read more]

One other thought…
If it’s cold where you’re at, the heat in the house could be making him itchy as it’s drying him out.
If your going to get a second opinion, be sure to ask about this.
I’ve had a few dogs with this issue every winter, and it effects me as well. My hands get so dry and itchy, they will actually bleed!
Keep us posted.

Be careful with mixes. Most contain a lot of sugar and dangerously small seeds. Also, they will pick out the goodies and leave other stuff.
My hamster did very well on Oxbow. She was on a cheap, seedy mix when I adopted her and switched to Oxbow immediately. She loved it!
Let us know how it goes.

My sister got a hamster for Christmas and I am helping her learn. She already got a cage for him/her. I know oxbow isn’t good for there pellets because there is no mix just plain and they need a mix. I will check out the vids

Thanks. Yes, have had many dogs, latest crew is Willow and Kylee, both just over a year and a half, baby Pheobe, not quite 5 months and spending Christmas evening at the vet ER, great fun!
So have raised these pups with the rabbits, no issues.
I can separate the rabbits if a Pittie pup is too much, was just wondering about general prey…[Read more]

I like the Oxbow Garden Select.
You can get a big cheap tub and make a hammy play ground. Drill some small holes all over the lid!😁

Hmm, I hope so. I do give her fresh greens freshly rinsed in the morning and evening. She has a recheck appointment on the 3rd and I’ll talk to her vet and see what he recommends.
Thank you so much for the replies.
Happy Holidays!

Did you get a hampster for Christmas? You can look at Victoria Raechel’s YouTube channel, she has great information on hampsters.

The more buns in the mix, the more personality comparability matters so something you’ll need to accept is the chance that these four will not work as a quad and having 2 bonded pairs may be a fine compromise, or a trio and a single (if one of the rabbits does not seem particularly keen on bonding, which some rabbits do do fine as singles with…[Read more]
