I have no personal experience with cartrophen, but I know of one bun who’s getting it and it seems to work very well. He’s a French lop, so a big bun. I don’t know if he’s on meloxicam too. What does your vet say about cartrophen and meloxicam?

Hi, we are having on going issues with our bunny, been an issue with him since very early on.
He will pee and either stay where he is, or go and sit in his pee. Seems to like the “odour pee”. He also goes and pees if we annoy him.
He has no issues eating, drinking and moving around. Grooms himself regularly (more than his female friend).
He…[Read more]

What kind of trap? Bunnies don’t usually go into those little cage traps. I think people have better luck setting up a pen with food and then closing the “door” with the bunny inside. You have to work up to it though, getting the bunny accustomed to finding food in said pen.

Is he on any meds for the arthritis? My very senior bunny was just on meloxicam continuously after he reached a certain age. But at that point, it was better to make him comfortable than to fret about possible side effects.

My 13+ bun is increasingly not comfortable with me. He was the most chill bun before, the one I’d let little kids hold without issues. Now, he’s peed a couple times while I try to pick him up or in my lap. He’s also bitten a few times which he’s never done before and was unthinkable behavior from him until recently.
My vets think he’s still the…[Read more]

Just curious, I know it’s not a rehab page or anything! I’ve contacted a rehab place and getting a trap, just curious if anyone has done this before and if it’s difficult etc. or have any tips. I have some kale and carrots I can put in there. I have a bunny in my backyard with a broken leg 🙁 I know exactly where it is, but I don’t want to scare…[Read more]

I use a combo of the “fur buster” comb, hand plucking, and a lint roller 🙂

Hi there!
I was hoping someone had experience with cartrophen injections for arthritic rabbits?
There is not much info out there and read one page it shouldn’t be used with metacam. He is on metacam and buprenorphine. Don’t want to do something wrong. Also read other people using it while rabbit is on metacam. So I am very confused and los…[Read more]

I used a small slicker brush when I had normal-haired buns and for my teddy lionhead. If you get one, make sure it has plastic knobs on the bristles, many slicker brushes don’t, and bare bristles can hurt the bun’s skin.
Now I have a rex bun, the only thing that works when she sheds is lint rolling. Lint rolling is good for normal-haired buns…[Read more]
