Papillomas can go away on their own. Do you have a photo so we can see what it looks like?

when I first felt the outgrowth I thought it was a scab from her getting scratched on something, this was just a week or so ago. Now I actually saw a keratinized piece of outgrowth and it’s getting a big bigger.

we just moved into a house and we’ve been letting her out in the yard for around an hour everyday so she could’ve gotten bit by a…[Read more]

I opt for a large, spacious litterbox and putting the hay directly in there so the “mess” is contained and the hay is easily accessible for foraging. Some rabbit’s eating ‘styles’ just aren’t compatible with hay feeders. A picture of your set-up could be helpful for brainstorming ideas as well! We are having some issues with picture uploads…[Read more]

Thanks, makes sense. Hes only ever had 1 litter tray in the lounge and then free roamed so no xpen. He has tunnels behind the couch and by the dining table now so will try to set up as similar as possible when we move so the placement of things are sort of familiar.

Unfortunately he is a rather nervous bun so hoping to make the move as stress…[Read more]

Try to brush her as best you can and keep in mind they can get a bit of tummy upset during shedding. Gas drops are good to have on hand! My bun is molting like crazy right now. Yaaaayyy…not 😖

I’ve always pretty much done things the same way when moving, put the buns in their long-term travel cage on moving day. It’s one of those plastic-based wire cages, just big enough for a small litter tray and laying down area. Then I move their big cage and all their stuff over and put it in position. I keep the litter trays with some soiled…[Read more]

Thanks for all the advice! Here’s another update:

I’ve had the buns for three months now. They’ve been in side-by-side pens, and I have them swap sides every couple days. So, after three months and all the swapping, I decided to try something a little risky… I took the middle barrier down and tried bonding in their living space (instead of an…[Read more]

Cardboard box with holes cut in it?

Yes, I would put his cage where you plan to permanently keep it. Let him adjust on his own, but definitely keep your routine so at least something is familiar.

That’s good! Hopefully once that is done and they have been given some time to settle, they will be able to form a real bond. If they are already tolerating each other (more or less), then it shouldn’t be too hard once they are neutered.

There probably wouldn’t be any ill effects, but it’s always better to makes changes slowly with rabbits. It will give her some time to adjust.

Nothing wrong with trying to least invasive thing first before trying something else. I’m going to guess they just had a little disagreement. Sometimes these things happen and it doesn’t mean their bond has broken.

At least she’s being enriched by what she has, but I can’t keep hay feeders around this thing!

Jumping Jack is driving me crazy. There’s always a mess to clean up with her hay. She has a small wire feeder that I bought from a feed store (and I mean small. It needs to be refilled at least twice daily), and I just got her a willow box (which was…[Read more]

I’d cut back gradually rather than stop unlimited pellets abruptly. Rabbits tend to do better on slow-ish dietary changes than swift ones. Hopefully she will eat more hay now, but she might need some time to adjust to eating and digesting more hay and less pellets.

So this Thursday marks 6months for Luna. Should i just automatically start feeding her 1/4 cup pellets? She still is on and off for eating her hay. Will she start eating her hay when she realizes her pellets aren’t unlimited as they used to be. I’ve picked her up a bigger litter box so she has more room to sit and eat her hay.

    Hey!

I find buns generally handle moving pretty well and maybe show signs of stress for a couple days if its their first or second time. I’ve moved my buns many times when I was a student and I always found the key to settling them in is familiarity over anything else.

I would put your buns cage and home base in the location where you want it to…[Read more]
