Hi all! So I’ve started the ball rolling on getting my girl a boy-friend. I found a boy at a local rescue centre who’s perfect but now, bonding 😱

the centre has said to set up two changes next to each other but my girl is free roam and I use x pens which I don’t trust the security, she’s offered for me to send my girl off for bonding and logical…[Read more]

It could be a big shed. His recent tummy trouble could have been set off by the start of a big shed. That’s very common, something happens in the rabbit rabbit body at the start of a big molt. If he is shedding, you’ll notice if you pet him in good lighting. There will be like a cloud of fine fluff. If you wet your hand before you pet him you’ll…[Read more]

I’m not sure, but I believe it is similar to DoorDash. You use the app to order food. You pay through the app. If your order isn’t delivered, then you can file a claim. I can’t remember, but I think there is an option to say you want to pay cash on delivery.

I know its a food delivery thing which sounds like something I could really use because with the cost of energy and the increase cost of food, its probably easier and cheaper just to order meals or at least evening meals. I have never felt comfortable paying online using my card and also if the driver could not find my address then I lose out so…[Read more]

he is a nearly 2 year old Netherland dwarf

I’ve just come home from work this morning and found his hair all ruffled up like 3 little mo hawks

Is this just a big shed on its way? (We are currently recovering from hair in the stomach which lead to abit of…[Read more]

I wasn’t aware there could be a trio bond. I had it once with him and two other rabbits but I didn’t think it was an actual thing.

The older rabbit bonds with anyone and everything basically(human, rabbits, he’ll even bond with dogs) and he’s always been fond of them. To the bonded pair he just exists. But that might be wise, get all three bonded…[Read more]

Just a couple flakes can be normal, but it can also be caused by something too. Where is it happening? All across the back or a specific small region? Is she molting?

I’m glad the tub sessions are helping!

So there is a third rabbit who lives in the same area as them? Or just shares a free-roam area? Or they take turns in the free-roam area? In general unbonded rabbits should not be interacting with each other, and interactions between a pair and an unbonded rabbit commonly upset bonds. In the absence of…[Read more]

It’s begun to resolve itself after a few tub trips. I think they associate fighting with being put in the empty bath tub which they hate.

At first for two days the NZW was trying to make amends. He tried to groom the mini rex, but every attempt got him nipped at and chased away. So he started ignoring him. For some reason ignoring him(even laying…[Read more]

I’m glad your bunny is doing OK. Yes, it would appear that transmission from owner to rabbit is extremely rare. Otherwise, we would be hearing about a lot more documented cases.

Update: It’s been five days now and Leila has shown no signs of illness! Her eyes are normal and her appetite hasn’t changed. No strange head tilts or otherwise unusual behavior. I’ll add another update if Leila starts to exhibit any symptoms, but I’m now confident that I didn’t pass on my HSV-1. Just wanted to say as much for any future bunny…[Read more]

I recently noticed Daisy has a few tiny flakes of skin in her fur here and there. About a month ago she was diagnosed with mites and she got treated. No she looks like she has dry skin. It doesn’t look like when she had mites at all. There’s just some skin flakes in the fur near her skin kind of on most of her back. Its not in a big clump or stuck…[Read more]

I’m really scared to take her for an x-ray because they may give her sedative or anesthetic and I don’t know how she will be recovering. Yesterday I gave her baby gas drops and she was immediately better. She hadn’t pooped all day after the vet and the day before and I thought I might as well try gas drops at this point. She had a little diarrhea…[Read more]

I’m sorry she had a relapse. Taking her for x rays and a dental exam sounds like a good plan. As you know, GI stasis is often a symptom of something else, but that doesnt really narrow things down.

It could be that the GI episode from 1.5 weeks ago never quite resolved. It’s not rare for a bun to have relapses. But it is of course important to try…[Read more]

Could you give me the full run down of all the rabbits in the house and the housing set-up? Having other unbonded rabbits in the house could definitely be the culprit here, even if there haven’t been any major changes in who the rabbits are.

If your pair is interacting with the other rabbits at all that can upset their hierarchy. If any of the…[Read more]
