I agree with Dana. Most vets do not test for EC unless it is suspected. Even then, some will just treat on suspicion if the symptoms fit. The test isn’t very reliable (i.e. false negatives). Oh, that’s great news, thank you! I really hope that it will lessen over time for Owen too. I’m very scared of the classic way of anaesthesia, because I’ve had some bad experiences with friends and some people on the forum. But Owen is a young and strong bun, and he went through it well twice already, so I hope it’ll be less dangerous for him.

It’s not very common to do a necropsy after a rabbit has died suddenly. When we lost Breintje last year the whole vet team was shocked, and they talked it over and went through all his files to see if they’d missed a sign.

I use back2nature for my buns litter. It’s paper pellets, i’ve never used any other litter before but heard it’s more absorbent and doesn’t get as crumbly as carefresh. We’ve had no problems with it so far 🙂
