They will likely be fine. Unless they inhaled a bunch of smoke (harder to do when you’re close to the floor), then it probably didn’t affect them too much if you aired things our right away.

Cooper was OBSESSED with the shoe rack in our old place! I had to block it with NIC cubes because he was nibbling all of our shoes!

I agree it sounds like a rebellious teenage bun combined with some spring fever! Hopefully he calms down in some time!

That’s great he’s doing well! I asked my vet about it (who has been very good so far and gave the expected higher amount of metacam) and this is what she replied:
“Tramadol usage in rabbits is still very anecdotal with no formal research on dosing. The Veterinary Information Network formulary does list 10 mg/kg every 12-24 hours for dosage.

As much as I would too, the forum rules are that you can only post baby pics if you are keeping the babies, so unfortunately I don’t know if this would qualify since it’s a foster situation!

For really big trays a large cat litter pan works great, or I like using dish-bussing trays! The bonus is they are really heavy so if you have a bun that tosses their litter box around it helps with that. Under-bed bins and boot trays can also be good to use.
For digging it helps to add a screen. Mine will dig the litter out no matter how deep…[Read more]

What part of her fur? Could she have gotten into something? Did you inspect the skin under the greasy looking areas?

That’s true Bam. I think you call it March Madness. We always called it Spring Fever. Lots of animals feel it. The increasing daylight energizes them. When I was growing up, we had a cat that would go through this even though she was spayed.

One of my neutered buns got hormonal in Jan-Feb. It lasted a few weeks, then it subsided. The days are getting longer now in the Northern hemisphere, and amount of light greatly influences the release of several hormones.

I’ve noticed my buns fur looks a bit greasy. It doesn’t feel oily it just looks kind of damp and her fur is sticking together a bit. I didn’t notice it this morning before I left the house but i’ve just got back and it’s the first thing i noticed!
I asked if anyone’s been petting her with products or anything on their hands but don’t know…[Read more]

I’m hoping it’s just a phase lol. I love him very dearly but he’s acting like a rebellious toddler.

I have to use a hooded litter tray as mine like to dig around. She can go in the door shuts and she can make all the mess she wants

There’s not a lot more you can do except air out the kitchen. They will probably be fine. I dont think rushing them to the vet as a precaution would be so good, vet trips are stressful for rabbits.
Obviously keep a close eye.

Hi, yesterday I ended up burning something in the oven and caused the entire flat to be engulfed in smoke. I opened the windows as soon as possible and tried to ventilate as much as I could. The rabbits also live in the kitchen. There is no other place for them to stay as it’s a tiny apartment. Will they be ok?

100% what Dana and LBJ just said! I had to rearrange my shoe shelves yesterday because my little fosterbun decided that he HAD to get in there. I first tried blocking it off with a metal fence, but he managed to sneak in, again and again, using different narrow passways. Once he got in, he forgot how to get out, so he tried to chew his way through…[Read more]

My bun has grown out of her cat litter tray and keeps peeing over the edge of it and also starting to kick out all her litter which causes a big mess for me to clean up 2-3 times a day!! I’m thinking of getting her a deeper cat litter tray with rims but wondering if anyone had any other suggestions? 😀

Aw thanks for checking in, Dana! So far so good! We’re up to the 10 mg/kg twice daily and he seems to be doing well — eating very well again and no more weird tooth sounds. 🙂 We’re so grateful — thanks for suggesting that!
He’s still too smart for our various tricks to get him to eat it willingly, but we are able to draw it up with a tin…[Read more]
