I always bring both buns to the vet, even if one can’t actually stay with them at the vet. I will also bring the other bun with me to pick up the poorly bun from the vet, so they have the car ride to get reacquainted, and have never had an issue.

I’m sorry you are going through it. đ It does sound like uterine cancer, which is very common in unspayed rabbits. Spaying (removing the uterus and ovaries) is the recommended treatment, and if caught early will usually remove all of the cancerous tissue. How many spays does this vet do? If they are not rabbit savvy, could you potentially find…[Read more]

<header class=”message-attribution message-attribution–split”>Hi, I have a 1 year 9 months old female rabbit. She is unspayed. She has been losing blood since yesterday morning. The discharged blood also has clots. We took her to a vet. At first, they said that she might have some infection / growth in her bladder – but later said that it is not…[Read more]

I am bringing Budja’s into the vet’s on Wednesday to have it flushed out. I will also be picking up azithromycin and more penicillin, to kind of dual attack this thing with the penicillin and more metacam. The vet actually said this may mean not doing a surgery.

The jumping over maneuver is actually another dominance behavior, like humping or requesting grooming.

Oh and Miu does this thing where she runs up to him and the leaps over him in a u-turn. I don’t know quite what it means. Dorian seems excited by it, but isn’t doing anything much. (His mounting attempts have been rejected and he is not pushing it)

Dorian got the all clear, so after some time to recover from vet and some lunch, I set them up in my room. It was a little tense in the beginning and both buns needed a lot of human attention and calming. But now we are just having back and forth grooming. It’s not quite 100% tension free, but I think it is going good. Waiting for them to hop in…[Read more]

Although we could never establish a strong, stable bond between Fable and Wick, her presence in our family was invaluable, unforgettable, and irreplaceable. Fable passed peacefully in our home surrounded by those who love her. She is no longer in pain and is resting peacefully on a beautiful farm property overlooking a small stream. We miss her…[Read more]

Yes, thankfully the pressure is off, yeah that’s true, I was just worried about her ingesting the abscess pus due to the excessive grooming of her dewlap area, but the abscess skin itself she can’t really get to. I have washed and dried all her blankets to keep her really clean, and extra cleaned her litter box/anything her chin area may come…[Read more]

Sandy doesnât seem to mind car rides too much. Iâm just hoping if we do decide to take him along for the ride he doesnât think we did something awful to Starlight.

I imagine it will be OK to wait. It’s not like there is anything there that wasn’t already there. The abscess bursting might actually be a good thing because the pressure has been relieved. I would just clean it up as best you can and then notify the vet tomorrow. They may or may not want to see her.

It would be good to keep in mind the environment that he came from. He was likely used for breeding and for showing. He wasn’t a house rabbit. I can’t say for sure, but he may have been housed in a cage with a wire bottom. This is a common setup for breeders. He may have had a litter box in his cage, but he was probably used to just pooping/peeing…[Read more]

Sounds like it’s a good idea to have it taken off.
How does Sandy do in the car? If it isn’t stressful for him, then I don’t see the harm.

Iâm really hoping she doesnât freak out because Sandy (her bonded mate) wonât be with her at the vet for her surgery. I brought Sandy to the vet for her last appointment but I donât know if I could just bring him for the car ride with her. Any recommendations?
