Yes, I meant that he said antiobiotics might be the only solution, but most likely will be on it lifelong.

My bun eats a LOT. His fur is good, but he is molting right now. His eyes are problematic, he has an eye cataract and occasionally has weepy eye, so I’ve been treating it with ciprofloxacin solution. Aside from that, he seems completely n…[Read more]

Yes, it’s hard to know what is wrong based on these symptoms. It could be caused by any number of things. Bam is correct, this is life threatening and he needs to see a vet immediately. Warming him up is important and will likely buy you some time, but it isn’t going to fix the problem.

If a rabbit isnt eating and is lethargic (doesnt move), doesnt take any interest in its surroundings), its a veterinary emergency. It’s very good that he’s been taken inside and wrapped in a towel, because its vital that he is warmed up and kept warm. But he needs to see a vet as soon as possible.

What has caused this is not possible to say, but…[Read more]

    Good Morning,

I really need your help and suggestions please!!!

My sister and husband bought a holland baby about 2 years ago. My niece named him baby. Seems that yesterday he was himself and ate, had his water and pooped fine. Today when they went outside to his little farm house, they noticed something odd with him. He was not moving but just…[Read more]

Hi, I recently made a post at bonding and I’ve been trying to message back a reply however it always ended up with my screen saying there’s a critical error for days. Can someone help me?

    Hi and welcome!

Whether two buns can be bonded has nothing to do with their respective sizes or breeds. Sex matters to an extent, a male/female bond has the best chance to work, but there are working same-sex bonds. Both rabbits must be de-sexed and have healed before bonding attempts are made.

There are several steps you can take before…[Read more]

    Hi!

I just saw a similar (older) post to this but can’t find it now that I created a username…

I currently have a 4 1/2 month old Holland Lop Doe that will be spayed on March 3rd, 22 – and have fallen in love with a Netherland Dwarf Buck that is about 8 weeks old.

I plan to neuter the Buck as soon as he comes of age, but would it be at all pos…[Read more]

I’m so sorry!  It sounds like you are taking wonderful care of her.

My Teddy couldn’t use a traditional wheelchair and I heard about something called (I hate this name) “drag bags” which are designed to help with scooting while preventing injury — I don’t know if they’d be helpful for her?  She sounds like an expert-level wriggler so I don’t k…[Read more]

I was thinking more like some kind of congenital defect. Perhaps there is a kink in the sinus that allows bacteria to accumulate. I’m just wondering because I dealt with chronic sinus issues before. His were caused by tooth roots. But the premise is the same, something is causing chronic irritation and allowing bacteria to pool. He sneezed and had…[Read more]

Biopsy came back yesterday. The result was trichoblastoma, which I guess is a benign skin tumor. I’m just relieved it’s not something worse.

We haven’t had x-rays or scans done. I truly thought we were done with this after months of antibiotics and then about 10 months of no symptoms. Then wham! So fast it’s back.

I was so discouraged this morning as it seemed yesterday the benedryl was helping. Then all the confusion with the vet office. I’m glad he decided to call a specialist for a…[Read more]
